Im wondering what with all this talk of the new F430/ depreciation and what this car will do to current model resale values.

    1. Will it further depreciate the 355??
2.How many New CS cars have been sold and reside in the United Kingdom.
    3. How many are in the Secondhand Cuircuit/ Dealers etc??

I was told by HR Owens that only 100 cars were allocated to the UK market split between dealerships ??????

I wonder how many 430,s will be allocated to the UK dealerships in the first yr of its release???

Anyone know answers to any of these questions??

    ;-)

I don't really see why it would affect 355 prices? Winter is coming and this should see a small fall in all prices.

Obviously I don't know any production figures but for the 430 but there are a lot of strads currently for sale

    Noony,

There must be many 355 owners that wanted the 360 but it was in monetry terms out of reach, if the prices plummett as you and others say on the 360 they will compromise and make the change.

This in turn puts more 355,s onto the market and so reduces the prices, its all a big revolving wheel , one change and all the market changes..

I don't think they'll ever do it again for normal production car's, This honour will only be bestowed on limited edition models - i.e. F50, Enzo etc.....

    Hey Joe,

I reckon prices are already starting to move down a bit on the 355 Spider, but could just be the season(?). However, I've personally not seen the same sort of downward movement for 360s. The prices seem much more variable and 'all over the place', like some people are trying it on, where as other dealers are being more realistic. Its the first time I've see LHD 360s in the 50's on autotrader.... but some 2001 RHD 360s are being advertised near 95K... crazy differences. Also 360 spider prices are very variable too - with silver ones being about 5-6K cheaper than red ones...

Does the 430 first deliver in the spring 2005??... if so, I think 355 and 360 prices will be hit most in Autumn 2005.

In my mind there is no question that the arrival of the 430 will see a drop in value of 355's and also 360's. I have read somewhere on here recently that there were 17,000 360's built and I think there were about 11,000 355's. I assume Ferrari will make even more 430's so the depreciation cycle will continue to worsen.

Surely a car like the CS will ultimately hold it's value better than the regular production cars.

It should do in theory, but it's simply overpriced at £135,000 ( more if options are added )and coming on to the market with between 700 and 3000 miles.
A major dealer was specific to me personally that he was concerned about the market for the CS and feared it' s price was too close to that of the 575m, and similar % drops may occur. It's supply & demand. There's an abundance of 360's for sale, and will be more with the 430 coming on. I fear for the supercar market in general, look at the Gallardo...huge depreciation/cancelled orders etc. Porsche are desperate to re-invent the 911, I've never seen so many variences on one theme. People will get sick of it, when the gt3 was launched months later the RS came along. Audi RS6 now to clear the stocks of the old model the RS6+. It all smacks of a little desperation and cynical marketing IMO.

Cost steve and the v8 is more compact which makes it lighter, and so many more resons why the v8 is now most used,id like to see ferrari go the ten route one day and im sure they have looked at this, but for now i think they will carry on with the good old v8 castings,

    Dale.
