Okay - let's see if there is sufficient interest to set up an F-Chat insurance scheme. To start feedback on what you see as being important eg trackcover, limited mileage, business use, being to able to add other cars too one policy, foreign use etc etc...
Once I have that i can set about designing something to cater all the requirements and then will need to start collecting personal details about current arrangements and so on.
I would stress that there has to be enough interest to make it worthwhile so all feedback is welcome. If we can then generate enough takers ( assuming price is attractive!) we can look at putting some of the profit (if the scheme runs well) back into something like an F-chat trackday or meeting.

Tony - do you want to make this sticky?

    Cheers

    Gary

Sounds good, personally I'd want unlimited mileage and trackday cover (not I use any of them but handy to have).

I've got a very good deal with LV so will be interesting to see what numbers you can come up with.

Gary as stated in Trackday Insurance thread I am very interested.

Important aspects of cover for me would be:-

    1. multiple vehicles(4) whilst using shadow NCB
    2. track day cover on fcar & merc
    3. business use restricted to certain vehicles
    4. foreign use
    5. restricted mileage on fcar and other vehicles

There's probably more - lets see what others say.

    Cheers Kevan
:) See you down the road - with huge grins on our faces :)

Same story for me - with LV, no mileage limit, trackday cover (untimed), but add in European cover and additional named drivers not being a problem.

    Protected NCB
Would accept limitations on reasonable mileage and business use

    But most important - cheap..

The things that sway it for me are
    1)Free track day cover
2)Discount for Thatcham 1/2 security devices and or Tracker. LV don't currently give me a discount for these
3)Sensible approach to small modifications e.g Tubi
    4)Discount for limited mileage
    5)Protected NCB

Yes, i would defintely be interested! Currently have too many policies so would need everyday car cover, track cover, multiple-car cover & would be happy to have restricted mileage on the strad.

    Nice one, cheers

Count me in - I've got 400 miles left on my FJ policy until the end of April 2005, unless I want to cough up another £900 to add 1,500 more miles.....

    Basically, I'd be looking for;

    > Mileage limit at 6,000 minimum
    > European Cover (even if extra cost).
    > At least the option to put my 27 year old missus on it (LV weren't interested).

    Cheers,

    Dem.

True they are incredibly cheap so no complaints about price.

You would think though that it would be in their own interests for them(and any other insurance policy) to offer discounts for security measures or to quote a higher than normal price for cars with no security. More security equals less risk meaning less claims and lower premiums for everybody.

I couldn't understand why they didn't want security fitted or the fact that it was parked in garage didn't seem to matter either. Heritage 'demanded' that the car be parked in a garage between the hours of 10pm and 6am !!

Can you please, please, please do a good deal for an UNDER-30 (me=26)?? I'm not concerned on conditions, just price!!

I'm renewing right now, and best I can get is 2,000 (2,300 with NCB insured) on my 55K value 355 Spider with 5yr NCB. Had Spider for 1.5 yrs. No accidents or points.

Or better still can you do me a LHD Murcielago (approx 120K) for under 5,000?

    Thks for any input

and well u might b. I've been shafted (in my opinion) for the last 4 yrs on porsches and Ferraris by insurance companies. I understand I gotta pay my dues, but its getting to a stage where no matter how careful I am... consistently for 9 years with no accidents or points... EVER. Still apparently thats not proof enough that I'm low risk.

The first year of my porsche boxster (sorry) was the worst... somewhere over 3 grand I seem to remember.
