The Fchatter who owns this car is quite serious. He uses and enjoys all of his cars. I've driven mine in the snow with ski racks, in the rain, parked them on 125th street in Harlem while I've stopped in for a 3am snack. Why not? They are cars. Why wouldn't you use them?

I saw this picture on the www.offtopic.com in the offtopic area and have been discussing this photo and that yes indeed it is a real F40 and not a fake. They have even brought Roland's F40 into it say that this is a real F40LM (this will take about 10 pages to explain what it really is)

    If anyone is interested

Repost but still very cool. I do not have a garage, which has prevented me from getting an F car, but I often think about getting an old 308 GTB as a driver and parking it in my driveway. Some have told me this is a terrible idea, but gee whiz, I live in a very safe area, on a dead-end street and I could use a car cover...

Anyway, I love that this guy uses his car!

I had my old 911 for six years before it ever was kept inside. during that time, i restored it very nicely. it's been parked in apartment complexes, town streets, and... for the last year on the city streets in Lower Queen Anne. sure it gets beat up a bit, but... I've got it; as you should get an older 308.

Sorry, but I have trouble saying that a three or four hundred thousand dollar car is just a car.

The person who own's this one doesn't.
Hey someone who has a safe street is wondering if he should buy a 308 if it means he has to park it outside.
    I'm saying yes.
I bet a 308 to him means more $ wise to him than an F50 does to this person.
You only live once. If you don't spend it you'll give half to the Gov. and the rest will be spent by your kids.

It is a matter of degree.

for some 300k is proportionately like 30k is to others

to some $3 is just as unattainable as the above.

If you spent the money (what ever the sum may be) and can afford to use it... why not use it as it was intended (as a car)

You could even get TWO old 308GTBs and leave 'em out in the driveway! ;)

Of course if you'd move the speedboat, they'd fit inside!!! LOL!

    *building bigger garage....bang! bang! bang!*

I have considered that. Just need to find a neighbor with space. I think there might be a couple. One neighbor has a 3 car garage and only a 360 and 911 inside I think, hmmm...Nah 5 blocks to his house is too far to walk in the rain. But that is not a bad idea, just have to find the right spot.

    Slomo,

I think the 308 QV's have fairly good rust proofing. Buy it, issure it, have fun. Roof racks can compensate for lack of trunk space.
