1st ever car ?

I was given the hand me down special. Grandma's old 1.1 mud brown nova saloon. Went to my sister and brother before it came down to me. After that it went to my best m8, who then sold it to his dad! I think it still running and still only lives up the road from home

My first car I bought:
1989 1.6 Mx 5 H434 YYP (blew gaskek/melted engine, new engine in) Sold to the same best m8, I think he has just sold it on.

2002 MG TF GL02 VUC Ahem, I think my posts at the time were sufficiently detailed about what happened to her!

There's a 997TT on order, but it wont be here for another 2 yrs, so cant count that yet.

In a week or so the new car will be a TVR Grif 4.3, either a BV or normal.

Next yr, I *will* get the Boxer that the crash this summer buggered up.

My first ever car was a 1976 P reg Ford Capri. I was 17 so my father came along to inspect it for me.The car was advertised in Jalopy corner in the Evening post for 150.00 pounds.
Dad gave his thumbs up,cash changed hands and I then the next day I realised it was as rotten as a pear!! Spent most of my weekends welding it back together and then the engine blew so I scrapped it!!
Never trusted my father again.Hehe

 

graduated to a beetle 1300 1967 vintage, blew that all over the M4 and bolted a 914 lump in with all the trimmings. that was great fun! especilly having to fill the spare wheel well with concrete to keep the front end down!!

 

I was a fan of the Professionals with Bodie & Doyle.

So at 17 I got a brand spanking new Black Ford Capri 2.0S, the one with the "S" stripe down the side.

I was power sliding for 5 years.

Felix was a bit of a monster, and according to the guy that built it, it had about 140Bhp from it's diminutive powerplant. With twin 45s on it, drive it with a heavy foot around town, and I was lucky to get 13Mpg out of it (drive like an utter wanker, and you could actually see the fuel guage needle moving!).

1st car was a Renault GTA V6 Turbo (Blue)- end over end'ed - that finished it off. trying to remember the reg number - think it was a 'W".

Great first car for an 18yr old {too pull}, but break hard and the heavy V6 in the back used to overtake you.

had a 1979 3.0S full 3.1 triple webbers balanced blueprinted engine pirahne gold ignition janspeed manifolds and exhaust lsd recaros bias braking pedal box bigger brakes 7.1/2 inch rs alloys [rare as rocking horse poo] bilstien shorter front struts and full bilstien suspension bought it from a southerner but it had 7in minilites on it so i put the rs alloys on it reg no [ffd543t] cibie headlights it was built by ford was silver i got it resprayed graphite grey [how to de value a car] i will dig out some pics later

Nice!!!!

Ive restored mine to the spec that it left the factory including the optional RS alloys. It was featured in Classic Car Weekly recently in which they said "this is the coolest car weve ever seen.........in astounding condition.......and the colour scheme (signal orange with black vinyl roof and orange tartan interior) only serves to make this car rarer". I have a folder with more than £16000 worth of receipts, the original bill of sale and the Ford supplying garages' welcome pack. It certainly is a 'head turner'!

 

1972 Triumph GT6 Mk3. Bought when I was18 yrs old for £600 ,TPFT ins £476.
Sounded awsome straight through exhaust. Then decided to make is look better lots of rust holes and 1982 News of The World found with the filler i had a problem. So fully restored it with a full race engine/brakes/suspension and painted it Black it flew and I still regret selling it now over 10 yrs later. But did gain a good knowledge of engineering from it inc welding and paint refinishing.

 

It was my mate's 1.3 Popular MkII Escort which got me into fast Fords. He had 8 inch wide Alleycats on it and forest arches all round. It was hillarious when Renault 5 GT Turbos would pull alongside and take the piss out of this boy'd up 1.3 Popular. By the time they'd caught up at the next set of lights, they weren't laughing anymore. 1.3 Popular shell - RS2000 running gear....................
