I know there has been a lot of discussion on the pro's and con's of the different front ends for a 308 however what I would like to know is where do you recomend buying one from. Also are they made so that you don't have to change the grilles and the bumpers? I would like to change my 78 but would prefer not to change the bumpers and grill.

i got my replacement euro front valence (spoiler ) from berlinetta motor cars and it was a direct fit to my euro 308. these spoilers do scrape the ground a lot if i am not careful about driveway inclines etc, you just have to approach at an angle. i fabricated a custom aluminum channel for the bottom lip of the spoiler that helps a lot.

Italian Design carries them, as well as some other parts suppliers--I think George Evans, T. Rutlands, and Ferrari UK might have them as well.

You can use your US spec bumper and grill with the Euro spoiler. In fact, I heard that the Euro spoiler was an option for US spec cars and they used the US bumpers and grills. However, if you ever switch to a Euro bumper, you need to also use the Euro grill in order to look right. The US grill is far too narrow to use with the slimer Euro bumper.

That is correct. Mine was ordered that way. The "US" (short) spoiler was also an option for Euro cars!

How do the driving lights I see on some cars (I've only seen on euros) attach? I've never seen a good detail pic, are they inset into the grill that's shorter than one without driving lights? They look slicker than if they were just hung off the bumper, can someone 'splain for me? Thanks!

They attach to a hole on a metal piece above the fog lights on the car. The grill has nothing top do with the lights per se except they have clearance for them. If you REALLY need pic lemme know.

All it basically is, is a hole on a metal rod on the car. The fogs mount to that.

So I take it that the lights are recessed into the grille, yes? Just wondering what it would take to make my US spec car look like that, cause I really like it. :)

Yes, recessed. As for what it would take to mod your grill, just need room for the fogs somewhere in it.

I am absolutely going to have to get the fog lights. I was quoted $1700 for the front spoiler/valence from Rutlands. Does that sound about right. I thought it was a little steep.

Try some of the other sources I gave you. I called around last year and found several which were much cheaper than the one you quote.

I will check out the other sources suggested before I purchase this spoiler but I do have one question. It appears that the grilles are cut on the end so that the driving lights fit inside the opening of the grille as opposed to in front of the grille just below the bumpers. My car is a 78 and I was wondering if the grilles are different throughout the years. Not sure if I want to cut up my grille. Is there an aftermarket grille that is already make to accomodate the driving lights?

I believe that you nee to cut the stock grill in order to install the lights. I think that any Ferrari grill you buy will e the full length.

Steve M, the red 308 in your profile, is that a Euro car. Or is that a U.S. spec car that you modified in the front-end. Thanks.
