dude....can u understand what i said? i said the SL55 is faster than my car. "bring it on?" u want to bring out ur sl55 and bolt faster in a straight line than my car and show everyone what i just said is true? no point in that.
Chris, Maybe I should restate that... The SL55 is .7 seconds faster to 60. In my world thats a lot. I think thats what you meant. But...the SL55 is $40,000.00 plus more then the XKR. The .7 sec faster doesn't warrant the $40,000.00 more. 5.3 seconds is pretty damm fast. The bottomline is that both of these cars only come in Automatic, they both appeal to different buyers. Personnally, I would take the XKR. To me, German cars are just very cold cars as opposed to Italian and English cars. I have a German car. Its great. Very reliable but also it has that cold feeling to it. The inside of the Jag is probably one of the finest. Having owned a few Jags, I'm a little prejudiced, so not that I'm buying a XKR (one of my brothers have one), but that would be my choice out of those two. My choice still would be the 911TT. I own a XJR, but I don't like the new model. Haven't decided what to replace it with, but I don't think I'll buy the S55 and I can't bond with the Quattroporte. Decisions...Decisions.... Great country, and a great time we live in!
I like the AM. But not hearing good things about its reliability. If I don't want reliability, then I'll keep the Ferrari!
Before you get married accumulate as much as you can. Remember, Everything after the marriage, half goes to the wife. Now my camp bills are enough to finance a new Ferrari! Let the guy enjoy his SL. He one of 30,000 other people accross the country that has one. Piss him off, tell him that the new SLK is nicer!
not disouting your purchase choice, just did not quite understand about the thoery on the price/performance difference and what's worthy what's not. yes in my definition the SL55 is way faster of a car, 1.2-1.3 sec difference in a 1/4m is a lot, dats like 12-13 car length and 90% will call it "smoked" if price/performance is the factor, i can get a Infiniti G35 for about 1/3 of price of a xjr, and yet only be "a litttle" slower, and i really meant 'little".
If u know the tricks....half DOESNT go to the wife especially in NY state where premarital assets do not get divided with the spouse. If you got the loot, u better live in a state where premarital assets do not get split 50/50 like California.....(****....im moving to cali sometime too).
I'm with you. Thats why for the money, the M3 is really a great car. Maybe we should all be driving M3's??
Not getting divorced guys. When you got kids, its not worth it, unless she's cheating on you. I see my friends that are divorced, forget the money issue, there miserable. Who do you think they date and marry again. The same sh*t!! They all end up with similiar women. Really!
