None of us have front plates, and we go in and out of the Midtown Tunnel routinely without problem. Once in a while they'll flag you -- Buttuz has had some particularly bad luck -- but on the whole I've never had a problem with the Midtown. If you've got an EZ Pass, that's even better!

ur very much likely to get nailed if u go through alone. they got me twice. once right before i enter. once they radio to toll booth and i got stopped at toll booth. last sunday we went throught with about 8 cars, then no problem. alone is tough.
I guess I was lucky, then, 'cause last weekend I didn't have a single problem going out to meet you guys, although admittedly, I was with Clyde coming back in. pchop's used the Midtown Tunnel many times too, hasn't he - has he had equally bad luck? Guess they may be getting stricter. In any event, Michael, Buttuz and the rest of the gang are coming down from the East, so there should be a caravan. Oh wait, do any of them have plates either? -

i have a easypass i think its also because of my tinted windshield anyway i have payed over 400 dollars in tickets because of the tunnel well more like because of the windshield and plate so i am still going to take the bridge besides i think is much more fun
Maybe its because your exhaust makes the tunnel shake and they are afraid it is going to cause a leak....

im jinxing myself as we speak, but i havent had ANY trouble with front plates in the NYC tunnels yet. And i only use the midtown tunnel when im getting out and into manhatten from the eastside.
that wasnt through the tunnel though. that was after i went through 66th street through central park. a playa hatin cop!
