Dear Comrade Barabus M8, The very best thing to do would be to speak to a very knowledgeable tyre specialist. It may be that only the Schrader valve requires replacing. It is not worth taking a risk with. 512 Tea Are - Tea Arse - Tear Arse
I change mine after all for the sake of a couple of pounds why risk it. just make sure whoever does the job uses the correct stainless ones
Dear Comrade Barabus, First remove the valve cap and the Schrader valve will be found within the external 'valve.' If you press it the air will be released. You require a special tool to remove it. But, the complete valve is not terribly expensive so why not just replace that when replacing the tyres? I say again: Go to someone who really understands tyres. e.g. Micheldever Tyre Services in Hampshire. They offer exceptionally good prices and I feel sure will offer 'Best Advice.' I have bought tyres from them for years - I shall be surprised if you can find any other supplier to better their prices. Indeed, Steve F (F512M) buys his tyres from them and he lives in Yorkshire! I trust this will be of some help. 512 Tea Are - Tea Arse - Tear Arse
when my tyres are replaced they automaticly replaced the valves they are chrome on my car but ive seen some with black rubber ones I think the chrome ones are longer lasting and look better however wheel cleaning products can turn them grey and matt, i use my car every week does anyone know what the best pressure is when driving on these leafy slippery roads ive done 10000miles in mine this year
Kamal I'm running 32 front and 35 rear on my TR, but i do tend to use my Carrera4 more after september (4wheel drive is much easier than feathering the throttle!) As your in Cheshire, I'm trying to organise a get together of cheshire/wirral F and Porsche owners for a drink, interested?
andrew if you are not far from wigan we are karting there tomorrow night at 7.30 at three sisters track
Steve, I'm on the Wirral, would love to come along but will be stuck in work to late (still doing the day job to pay the bills at the dealers until we can make a profit!) the invite of course includes your good self and the rest of the North west chaps. I'll post a thread as soon as I have a venue and date lined up. Was thinking about having a drinks and food thing at CSO nearer to christmas (dinner and drinks in an F-Car dealer should make an appropriate setting) what do you think?
