Can someone tell me where the acceptable lift points are on a 1995 F355? I don't seem to be able to find anything in any of the books I have.

There have been a few old posts on this - and one with pics - but I can't seem to find it either...

The back is easier than the front to find - so lets start there. If you are at the back of the car - about 12 inches (give or take) from the rear tires you will find the rear area - it is a flat area about mid way between the clutch housing and the rear tires.

On the front - you will go toward the back of the car behind the front tires and you will see a spot on either side - which is the frame that you can jack up from.

You will find that the front is very difficult even to get a small jack under - so the best thing to do is to jack up the rear - which will give you clearance to do the front. Or if you have another person one can kindof lift up on the car - giving enough clearance.

I then usually put Jack stands - under the front or rear axle depending on where I am working - just to be safe.

    Hope that helps....

I was one of the people who posted the question in the past, and the following picture depicts where I was told the jacking points are.

At the rear, I used a block of wood between the jack and the chassis (so no scratches and jack wouldn't slip).

I was told not to place the jackstands on the crossmember at the front of the oil pan, bc it might bend - for what its worth.

Great Picture Dave....where did you get it?

BTW - You're both correct about the front lifting point..It's a box with 2 sides about 2" wide. However, there is another one just like exactly 34" to the rear, which is your rear (factory) lifting point. Although it's there, I prefer using the point in your illustration, right over the large nut.

If you don't see the factory rear, look real hard because a regular floor jack or improper lifting will "flaten" the edges of the box making it difficult to see or the stress from bending it broke it off entirerly.

And yes, the crossmember will bend if you put jack stand under it.

Note that if both the front and rear factory mounting points are used to support the car 100%, it takes very little weight to tip the entire car backwards - don't lean on the rear when its jacked like this, bc its very unstable. I know, bc I almost had a catastrophic accident!

FL 355 best describes the mounting points in my picture in words.

The picture came from a 355 press kit someone scanned somewhere on the net - I just added arrows.

    Thanks David - Very cool.

BTW you are 100% correct about the "balance" of the car while using factory points... Easy to tip....
