All right boys, we've got a little more clarity on the plan. Rather than congregating on the West Side and then driving in, we're going to aim to meet directly in Times Square. This way, people can meet as and when they get into the City, rather than the group being handicapped by people showing up late.

Location-wise, we have received permission (yes, that means from the Po-Po!) for the Ferrari's to start accumulating along the side of 46th Street and Broadway. Since we are aggregating where Broadway intersects with 7th Avenue, all non-Ferrari attendees should park their cars on the exact opposite side - 46th Street and 7th. Many thanks to Emil and Lupe for superb coordination with the local law enforcement, who are on board with this plan. Our EC Boyz' efforts have greatly reduced the risk of us being asked to "move along."

Time-wise, we'd like all the cars to be there by 6:30am. A few of us (including the photographers) are going to be at the rendezvous point by 6:00am. We're going to be snapping as each car(s) arrives, but we want to be in a position to take the "group shots" by 6:30am, before dawn breaks. Having everybody there by 6:30am will also allow us get two or three different formations as the light starts turning.

The game plan is to be done with the three "sequence" shots by 7:30am, for two reasons: (1) traffic will be starting to pick up (even though it's a Sunday) and (2) on the request of a few people, thought it might be fun to "loop around" Manhattan by hitting the West Side Highway, to downtown, to FDR, to the appropriate bridge/tunnel to exit Manhattan towards Long Island. Are people up for this, or would you prefer to directly leave for LI after the shoot by cutting across 34th Street? If we leave Times Square by 7:30am, we should not have an issues with getting to FoLI on time, even if we take the "scenic" route.

For those that have walkie-talkies, bring 'em. They will be very helpful in coordinating as we move around. Channel 10, sub-channel 10 will be the official TSS channel.

Finally, PLEASE be mindful that we're doing this all "unofficially." Aggressive driving, general recklessless or blatent stupidity, either getting to the shoot, during it, or as we head out can get easily get us shut down or ticketed. Don't be the ******* that ruins it for the entire group.

I will post a map this evening when I'm home, showing the meeting points and intended routes in detail. In the interim, let me know if you have any questions/comments/concerns. I have a feeling, this is going to be the best gathering yet!! Can't wait for Sunday playahs.

great game plan vik. thanks for your effort.
lupe/emil thank you for the official hook up.

i vote in favor of the loop down and around manhattan idea at 7:30.
cross towning on 34th street is boring and slow. after the shoot everyone will be gung-ho to drive, and a 20 minute drive out to LI is nothing. i want to
see 20+ ferraris on the wsh ZeN with NO traffic.

see you guys on sunday at 6:30am...

    One Important Note:

Times Square is under the purview of 2 police precincts. Midtown and Midtown South. The Midtown precinct is north of 45th Street. The Midtown South precinct is south of 45th street.

We are on the activities sheet for the Midtown Precinct and only the officers north of 45th street will know about our gethering (unless the cops on the overnight shift Saturday/Sunday talk to each other -- which is a distinct possibility.)

I'll be there with Greg G as well. Anyone have an extra seat for him? I'm sure one of us from the LI contingent can accomodate?

I just left him a voice mail. My shotgun is open for the ride out there.
I'm not sure if I'm doing FoLI at this point, so we may have to adjust seating arrangements. Least I can do for a fellow tunnel rat :)

Thanks Clyde. I think Greg will cruise out with me to LI, meet up with the LI crew, cruise back into NYC, and then back out to the Concours. From there we'll jump back in the 993 and head to NJ...

Ok, based on the **** that Rob, Danny, Hubert and I pulled in NYC today during rush hour, we should have NO PROBLEM in Times Square this weekend...

    OK, shoot until about 7:00am.
I thank Eric for bringing the coffee & Donuts

We have the Tour de Manhattan with HubiTubi in the pole position

We have the FoLI concours that afternoon

I'm wondering what everyone is doing about the- forgive me pooh -
"Rumbly in my tummy" between the tour & the concours?

Is there a breakfast run in there?

Ferrari en masse taking over a diner parking lot??? I vote for that.

This loop around the city sounds like fun. Josie and I had originally planned on heading back home after the shoot because it's my brother's b-day weekend. It turns out that even my brother won't be able to stay past Sat. because of work. This leaves Sunday wide open for us. Should we register for this FoLI thing? Can we still register? I'm not very familiar with LI. I only know the shot from Bayside to the beaches (Long Beach, Lido, etc) via the Belt and Nassau. What should we do?
