So now I have the test pipes on the car & it does sound Very nice, about as loud as my 512TR but with the added Wooosh of the wastegate :) I love that sound

of course the test pipes cause the wastegate to dump prematurely again. The machanic at Shelton told me all I had to do was turn the knob on the end of the wastegate but I forget if he said clockwise or counter & whether itwas 1 full turn or just half.

    Thanks

William, I do not remember either!

but, just try turning in first 1 turn and then run it.... if it corrects or improver you went the right direction.. if not go the other way, you cannot hurt anything if you go the wrong direction....

I was going to go to St. Louis and see Roland and track the F40, but a very high chance of rain and it is nearly 6 hours each way.... guess I am staying home...

William , we met on the top of Chris's transporter at Cavallino this year.

I have a good bit of experience with this issue with my F40 after my modifications. Turn the screw on the back of the wastegate counter clockwise about 1/2 turn at a time when the wastegate is set to dump too early. The more you set it counter clockwise, the longer it takes to get to full boost.

As Chris P says, you will not hurt anything.

    Good luck

Hello William, sorry to get back to you so late but I was at Gateway than in Evansville and just got back.
1 turn cockwise will increase the boost by 2 psi, that's simple. You need a
allen 4mm and a 13 open wrench for tools. Do it by 1 turn increment in either way.
Remember that the engine wears much faster above 7500rpm !!! Get a shift light, it gets there very fast.
Enjoy, I'm going Saturday to Canada to drive back a F40 by the road. That will be a super voyage.(1000miles+)
Chris, we missed you at Gateway, the weather was perfect from Friday till the end. Ther 2 red cars were always in front !
    Maybe in New Orleans ??

Hello William, Dave is working on a waste gate that you "tuned" from the dash. You might want to call him, he is a master in that field and tomorrow, I'm driving Johnny's F40 to him to take care of his waste gate.
