I personally view it as a warning to stay clear of both parties involved with this. That's where I'll leave this thread.

I don't know if Jay was paid or not, but if not, he owns it. Period. He also owns his tools. If the business lost some functionality because of the tools he owns, then it's the businesses problem, they should've bought the tools in the first place. No different than if a mechanic took his alignment machine when quit working for a garage.

I have to admit, I LOL'd when I checked the site earlier today. I actually even found an old thread where someone thought they'd been banned from here. Rob stopped in, told him he hadn't been banned, and basically said hi to JR. JR immediately started blasting Rob.

In all fairness, whether deserved or not, if Jay put together Allan's website (L-Power) in a 'webmaster' capacity I can see where JRV (or anyone else for that matter) would question the webmasters allegiance or motive for helping to create another site that competes directly with the existing site (L-talk), especially if it is for a person that has recently had a falling out with JRV.

If this is not the case then disregard the preceeding theory and I'll shut my trap.
I will make the point though that I feel much more comfortable dealing with a person in business or casually if I know where this person is coming from. With that said, all I can do is take it all with a grain of salt and wait to see if the truth pops up later.

    Spasso & whomever -
Jay had nothing to do with setting up Allan's site -
He had his hand's full working on L-T's NEW site - JRV's OWN multiple comments during that time verify this !!!
    -------------------------
Allan has his OWN competent webmaster -
L-Power was going strong long BEFORE what happened yesterday-
    -------------------------
    Again -
I'm not "in the loop" but have gathered enuff info to know that Jay, as well as several other's, are NOT to blame -
And by the way I have NEVER been banned from ANY forum, my account is STILL open at L-T, but UNUSED by MY OWN prerogative !!!!!!!!!!! So there is NO axe to grind, NO sour grapes, etc. on MY part -
plus - financial gain - HA - I WISH - this is my slow season -

I don't have a bias here, I am calling it as I see it.

It doesn't matter if JRV was the biggest ***** in the world and promised
Jay X $$ or told him whatever, nor if Jay is totally justified in what he did.

The fact is FTalk is JRVs property as a business and he had major input into his web design I am sure so it was not just Jay who did everything on his own,as well as any postings or moderation he did, just as if you worked or volunteered your services to a major company and decided to leave you cannot take trade secrets or the businesses property with you thats called embezzlement and their are laws to protect businesses from this, the web page and design is JRVs property not Jays.

My dad was a programmer consultant before he retired and he could never take his proprietary custom software he designed when he left to work for someone else nor disclose trade secrets such as databases or anything else, unless he wanted severe retribution both civilly and criminally along with
a tainted reputation, it doesn't matter what the terms were, it is the businesses property.

    and the peanuts -
    gotta Pepsi -

    but -
    seriously -
Jay has been VERY laid back in this case -
check postings at L-talk for comparison -
    ----------------
    atherg -
    as for the "embezzling" -
if your dad had paid for part of the program and done 98% of the mods - then was never compensated for either AND he gave a notice to the company that he would take what was his and leave - hey, in my book & prob the judges - "It's yours bro - do what'cher want". And as pointed out - his doing so did not damage anything - with proper planning, the site could have continued with only a minor hiccup that they could have warned their members about!
Plus as pointed out - the "business" status is in question and I'm sure your Dad had contracts out the yeng-yang preventing him from taking anything - but I BET he WAS compensated - RIGHT!

Jeez - my fangers iz tarred -

Jeff, the comment about business property does not apply here, but if you believe people abide by some silly proprietary agreement in the business world, that's just nieve. People take "proprietary property" with them all the time from company's and start their own business. Happens everyday a million times. All that work belongs to Jay, and JR is getting the benifit of it.

Travis, why don't you go to L-Talk anymore?

I understand what you trying to say, but in this case Jay and JRV are enthusiasts, and L-T is run as a hobby (at least until recently - which may also be part of the problem). I think it would depend on what sort of oral agreements were made (if any), because clearly Jay didn't get paid for his work.

    Pass the popcorn.

Funny, so JRV doesn't even own his own site? A contractor (web designer) or employee can come and take away whatever he wants, destroy files and wreck havoc?
I've had many businesses and if a employee, contrator, or total stranger did that to me he would be reported to the cops or at the least have his azz sued off so fast it would make his head spin.

And concerning if JRVs web sites are a business or not it doesn't matter, they are his property. Clearly they are a business as they have advertising revenue from them and are tied into his repair shop as PR for it.

We can run around in circles all day about this, but as I said this post was highly suspect along with many posting in this thread justifying Jays actions whom are coincidentally Allan Lamblos buds and have their own agendas as to why they are posting here, his site has a reference to this thread with the same posters here on it.

I think one thing this REALLY points out is that FCHAT stands alone.
I also think with AJ's help LCHAT will too.
I really feel that Rob has made something very special,

LOL - If my dad could see me now. A whale in the world of fund managers, a movie producer, and owner of one of the finest car collections in the world is kissing my butt. :D I'm not worthy. Thanks Jim.

I apologize if I didn't sound professional in parts of this thread. I've behaved as professional as possible the past year while the last thing I heard JRV say about me was something along the lines of being gay, going bankrupt, and selling my Ferraris. Well, I have a job and as of today Jennie still looks damn hot to me.

Well, I've had enough of this, back to being boring and professional. :(

QUOTE: justifying Jays actions whom are coincidentally Allan Lamblos buds and have their own agendas as to why they are posting here,: END QUOTE

since I have defended Jay and also post on L-Power - I assume you are referring to me
    (1) from YOUR posts - you GOTTA be kin to JRV - your paranoia, wild REPEATED FALSE claims, phrasing, etc.
    (2) I believe, if you bother to READ all the postings, you will see that Jay did NOT "destroy files or wreck havoc" - any damage that was done happened AFTER he left - I'm dumb as a rock on a computer, but even STUPID me can see what happened & how THEY messed up their OWN site!!!!
    (3) "agenda" - yep - kin to JRV 4 sure - his rants - ya wanna explain to my dumb redneck self - WHAT you are referring to - c'mon!!! What do "I" have to gain ???????????? I really RESENT that remark!! I've referred people from each site to the other - they're ALL different!
    (4) If you knew ANYTHING about the history of the split - you will know that I, along with others, was AGAINST any new site - but JRV HIMSELF made that choice for many people by his OWN words -
    (5) I believe, if you bother to check, that ROB was the/or one of the primary people pushing the original thread - ok - what is HIS agenda !! We know he & JRV have had differences, so HIS should be the suspect agenda, yet he, along with Jay, have 'maintained' during most of these discussions -
    (6) QUOTE :reported to the cops or at the least have his azz sued: END QUOTE - don't you think if he had a LEGITIMATE claim - JRV would have done so yesterday ??????????????????? Sooooooooo - why HASN'T he!!!!!!!!
If anybody is SUED, it should be the person claiming so-called "phantom un-known, secret-squirrel, double O07 AGENDA'S" - hey - what color is the sky in YOUR world - mine is blue -

    whehh -
    been a long day -

Travis I am not even going to respond to your moronic allegations, it's not worth my time and you would never understand anyway.
Get personal with me I'll finish it, I could care less about JRV but what was done was wrong it's that simple.

Concerning JRV persuing civil or criminal action as I am sure you are unaware it doesn't happen that fast, an investigation could be pending and any civil action could take a while to transpire, so anything is possible even though "nothing has happened" in a day since it happened.

You don't even have a Ferrari and like Lamblos why are you here? To further defamate JRV? How about getting back to your L-Power site with Allan and the rest of the polyester wearing dweebs and talk about how great Lamblos are?

careful - your ignorance of the legal system is showing - and yes that IS personal since YOU attacked me in a previous post -
If Jay wanted to do REAL DAMAGE - all he had to do was show a judge that the site was some sort of 'partnership' - which is easily done - and he could have had the site shut down IMMEDIATELY - been there, done that myself!!!! And THEN wait a year for the court to sort thru the mess - he didn't - he took, with a NOTICE, what he percieved as his, and if JRV had thought it WASN'T - he could have taken similar legal action days ago to prevent this - so why didn't he!!
    Why am I here -
#1 - the old FREE country argument
#2 - I don't remember seeing a FERRARI OWNERS ONLY sign up - could YOU PERSONALLY point it out - waiting - dum dum dum .....
#3 - I was under the impression it was possible to like cars other than the ones you actually own at that moment -
#4 - I DO post under the Lambo section primarily -
#5 - I have read a lotta good posts by interesting people here -
    #6 - I have also CORRESPONDED with some non-Lambo owners here - is that crossing some kinda segregation 'line' - huh - F talk to F --- L to L ????
#7 - I was ashamed of the way people that, I thought, had class and knowledge (as I know MOST F people do) would crucify someone because of the rantings of another who - if you bother to read his own posts - contradicts himself constantly and imagines everyone has some 'agenda' - (I know - sounds EXACTLY like YOU - but I'm talking about JRV)
#8 - As for the "polyester" - I've sent your suit back to you - I just needed to borrow it for an office "Tacky Day" costume party - but they banned me from the party - said it was TOOOOO UGLY, but not to take it PERSONALLY !! Thanx for the loan, but it REALLY does look better on you!! Much more natural like!
#9 - I don't need to further defamate ANYONE - just read their OWN posts and you'll see their doing a great job themselves - NO - again NOT YOU - I'm sorry but ya'll just sound sooooo alike - you SURE you ain't no kin-folkses uv hiz'un ?!?!
gotta stop now, 'cause the next item would be numbered in the double-digits - too much for SOME brains to comprehend -
    hey -
gimmie some more Pepsi PLEZE -

    ~T~

    ROB -
I post primarily on another site and am sorry for taking up so much of your forum, just figured since obviously YOU thought Jay was on the level and encouraged him to post his explanation here, that most of your members would agree with you - but apparently "some" think that YOU too must have an 'agenda' and have questioned YOUR judgement and I just didn't think that was right of them - but, I guess SOME dissension is ok - but saying "jail" & "sue" someone else when they, quite obviously, don't know the whole story, is a little overboard - what's next, tar & feather Rob for starting this thread ??
I also know that you and Allan probably don't exchange Xmas cards, etc., but possibly with the class way you handled the 'Jay Situation' and now have AJ working in the L section - maybe some of the hostility between L & F owners/fans will be diffused - many of us like both, have both, or have had both. A little 'friendly' rivalry is fun tho ;-)
Again - thanx for the space on your forum -
gotta get back to work now -

Hmmm... Defamate. That's new to me. I guess it's like a combination of defecate and defame. Let's see what Google has to say about it:
