William Bradford...

 

That's interesting as my youngest son (by my second wife) is a direct descendent too, in fact his mother's middle name is Bradford.

 

Im related to Adam or Lucy depending on how you believe.

 

When my grandmother was alive my mom and her would do geneological research together on their side of the family.

Notable ancestors were William Tecumseh Sherman and Samuel Clemens. Sherman is a GGGGG Uncle (don't remember how many greats) and my GGG grandmother was Clemens' neice, so barely related if at all.

It is pretty amazing what you find when you do research like this, everyone is probably related to someone famous.

 

This was only brought to my attention not long ago. My Father's Brother's daughter is Mischa Barton. Iv'e never met her, nor have i met my uncle at all. They lived in the UK for a long time and now live in New York. I have never even spoken to them and i dont really intend too. So yeah, i have a famous relative but ive ever spoken to them.
She is one of the main characters on the show "The O.C" that shows on fox, and aparently according to my dad, she is dating an Billionair Heir.
So there you go....
Like i said, never spoken to her so does that really count?

My last name is Nones, and my entire American family is quite small. In fact, I am one of two remaining male Nones' left in America. If neither myself nor my half-brother have any male sons, the American Nones family will cease to exist.

Anyhoo, I am descended from Benjamin Nones, who was a Major in the Revolutionary War and who served in General Washington's staff. He was a jew who emmigrated from France. He was visciously attacked in the early days of the republic because of his religion, his political slant, and his class status.

My wife's uncle is a well known author and sportswriter in Houston- Mickey Herskowitz. Her cousin married an actress, Gina Hecht, that we see on TV and in the movies from time to time. When we went to their wedding, we met a whole bunch of Hollywood actors including Jason Alexander, Sarah Miles, and Talia Shire.

 

One of my mother's cousins was Japanese actor Frankie Sakai. His most famous US role was Yabu on the 1980's miniseries "Shogun". He came to my mom's wedding, but I never met him.

I seem to recall the Stones' Bill Wyman marrying an 18 yr old named Mandy, and soon after, his son married Mandy's mother. A radio program explained how this made Bill Wyman his own grandfather. How's that for having a famous relative!!
