The question wasn't what car we want. The question is which Ferrari lent a bar of soap to the unwashed. The 308 did. Before that, it was only the washed that knew about Ferrari.

I definitely think you are right about that. When the GTO came here in '85. People thought $85,000 for an 8 cylinder????? No way. Since then , the prices started to go UP & UP & Up on cars!!!

To me the Testarossa is the most "Ferrari" you can get.

The car defined an era. It was king throughout the 80s, and little boys all over the world played with mini Testarossas if they were playing with toy cars.

I remember hearing the shouts and seeing the extended arms with fingers pointing whenever a Ferrari was seen: "Testarossa!" Ferrari and Testarossa are practically synonomous.

I love the 80s. And Ronald Reagan :D

when i see a testarossa, i just think of a kit car ( pontiac firebird base ) . it seems like they made many of them. imo, i think it cheapened the aura of the testarossa

People are always talking about kit-car [fake] Ferraris.

I tell ya, where I'm from there aren't any fake Ferraris. At least none that I have seen. I never see Ferraris on the road, let alone fake Ferraris.

Maybe in neighborhoods like those where MTV's "Pimp my Ride" is filmed you'll find fake/kit Ferraris. But you won't find them in any place dignified or driven by anyone with dignity.

I don't think the acts by a few losers "cheapened" the Testarossa one bit.
