Just a friendly bit of advice to my fellow Kent Fchatters.

Went up M2 to Rochester today, between J2 & J3 are roadworks with SPEC cameras - these have the ability to measure your average speed over a set distance by taking a digital picture of all cars at two points, which are normally about a mile apart.

So be warned it is not just enough to slow down when you see the camera.

    Cheers Kevan

They are mounted on an ornate blue gantry, which looks more like a fancy street light.

The cameras are yellow - but are only the size of a pint glass and look more like traffic cameras - there are no lines in the road, no flash etc.

Due to lane changes in these particular r/works, there are 4 cameras on each gantry.

Sounds like a job for Road Angel.

I must get round to upgrading my radar detector, sooner rather than later

Is that why they're called specs?

They actually run them on carrots you know - that's what enables them to see in the dark.

Does that mean they will changing colour from yellow to orange?

OT=When on a blind date once with a girl who drank so much carrot juice, she had orange hands. Seriously!!!
