Yes u can compare ebay prices with dealer prices! You even posted prices for 550s on ebay yourself with Buy It Now prices! All you do is compare which price is lower for the same car. Duh. And if you know how the auction system works, you KNOW exactly when to place a bid and what time you place your bid at, and which auctions you place a bid for. And $165k for a 550....come on. That is ridiculous compared to the other cars you mentioned on ebay and the other price quotes fellow fchatters have spewed out.
Ed, I thought he and I had a gentlemen's agreement, but he used some lame excuse "oh yeah, you were suppose to confirm with me that Friday" and sold it under my nose.
that's really lame on his part. you're still getting an awesome car though and probably better not to be buying from someone who his as flakey as the first guy.
You have to keep in mind that 90% of the vehicles on eBay never hit the reserve, exotic or not. Also the dealers or people listing their cars on eBay mostly are doing it as a last resort because they know for a fact that the cars are going to go a lot lower that what the originally had in mind. I got my car the same way. Take 5 - 10 cars off eBay and find comparable cars with the around the same amount of mileage and same year and tell me that a dealer is not asking significantly more.
Do dealer always get what they ask for?? Nope. Do you know the prices that every car is actually sold by dealer? Nope. You yourself listed few ones with BIN price, which means that's the price you can buy the car at without bidding. You campare that price, to the price CC asking, you can logically draw judgement on how the CC price is. What's hard to understand??
some ppl just dont get it chris. they think that just because you have Buy It Now prices, that one can never find out what the reserve price is! lol
What I am saying is that eBay prices are CHEEPER than cars on Dealer Showrooms. Dealers are not discounting used cars for $10,000 or $25,000 off their asking prices unless you are talking about heavy money here like $500,000. Maybe an example will help you understand. I listed the following: 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello Tour De France Blue with Tan 8,000 Miles $114,000 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...3&category=6212 Now Manhattan Motorcars has a: 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello Tour De France Blue with Tan 10,000 Miles $129,000 My point is that the dealer is asking $15,000 more for a car that is a year older and has more miles. See the point?
No shiet that the dealer is asking more than ebay price!! That's more than just common sense!! but that was never the point. The point was that CC's car is overpriced. You countered that point by saying we do not know the reserve price on ebay cars. When we told you what BIN price means, your point became that ebay cars is cheaper than dealer, which was precisely why we said CC priced the car high. Get it? And seriously, what is it to you personally if someone says a car at CC is overpriced?? You act like you are seriously violated.
I was never angry that someone said the CC car was overpriced. When did I do this? And why does everyone say that I get angry when someone says something negative about CC? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I really do not care personally. I say CC is good because I like the people and the way they treat their clients and potentials. It never goes anywhere after that. I never tell people to just go there or that all other dealers stink. I defend them sometimes and people end up thinking that I am their official spokesperson? Geez.
All i have to say is that IN MY OPINION the yellow 550 at CC is overpriced by at least $20K. you can now buy a 550 with a better color combo AGAIN MY OPINION with less than half the mileage say around 4k for about $10K-$15K less than CC's price. And that's from an authorizes F-dealer.
You first state earlier in the thread: then now u say this: wtf? u just contradicted yourself. there is no comparison???? you just admitted that ebay prices for the same cars are cheaper than the same comparable cars in dealer showrooms. i think that is an outright comparison between the 2. u should try and not pretend that you know everything. I certainly do not know tons of shhit. Stuff i am not knowledgable about, i just keep my mouth shut.
I don't see what the debate it about regarding my 550 at CC. The car is priced at 165K by CC and they can put whatever price they chose on a car. As far as it being over-priced that is up to the individual consumer to decide for him/herself. As one can clearly see there are 550's that can be had for lower prices which you can purchase being a free market, but that does not change the fact that this is a free society and one can put whatever price one wants on a good he/she wishes to sell and CC has chosen to ask 165k for this 550. No one here is being forced to buy that car so i do not see the point, if someone feels it overpriced than don't buy it end of discussion. Not to offend anyone i am just trying to re-focus this debate on the initial issue of 550 pricing in general and not the price of one particular 550 at CC.
It is not that there is no comparison literarly. You take things too seriously. It is a saying! You can not compare eBay prices to Dealer prices because there is no comparison in PRICE. eBay prices are always lower. That is a fact. DUH! Why don't you read the statements again!
there is no comparison? wtf... let me explain it on simplier terms that u might understand: House A is comparible to House B....same square footage....same views.....same good school districts.....same layouts.....same everything. OK? House A is offered on ebay for $1,000,000 House B is offered through Century 21 for $1,100,000. How can u say that the price of House B can not be compared to House A? The price of House B is greater by 10% than House A. That is a comparison....House A was a better buy and was cheaper than House B (by 10%). That was a comparison. Understand now?
Rehan, you are absolutley correct , CC can ask whatever price they want for any car and no one can argue the fact but at the same time we have the right to compare his offering to what's out there. we are just trying to compare the various 550's that are out there for John to make a inteligent decision. by the way how do you compare the murcie to your 550?
Why do you read into things so much? The statement is basic! For example, you find a brand new 360 on eBay for $200K and you find one at a dealer, same exact car for $225K. I want to see you go to the dealer and tell them that you want the car for $200K and see you walk out with the car. Does not happen. If eBay was such a big threat then why isn't everyone buying cars from there and why are dealers not getting hit very hard? Many consumers and dealers do not factor eBay pricing into the equation. GET THE POINT NOW!?? Oh and as for the statement, I pretend to know everything. What the hell is that supposed to mean? I never do any such thing. You know, for a smart person, you really surprise me sometimes.
u cant compare the Yankees to the Red Sox! go ask the Masons Pchop....hopefully ur 550 will come soon! u have business smarts and im sure u will be getting the best price for the value of the car!
