... and what should I come across but a bunch of hooligans revving their Ferrari engines and making a general nuisance of themselves. I went over to give them a piece of my mind and they just laughed at me. I was so disgusted at their behaviour that I video'd it.

One of the owners babbled on in my ear and told me that the first car had an ITO exhaust with cats still on, the second was a Tubi with de-cat, and the third was a Capristo with de-cat. As if I wanted to know that.

I have to say, of the whole lot of them, I was most disgusted by the Capristo owner. He was an absolute hooligan. I don't who he is but he even has a sticker on his car which says "my other exhaust is a Capristo as well and its louder than this one" (you can just see it in the middle of the back window)

So here's a link to the video (12mb) of this disgraceful event. I hope you are all as disgusted as I am about it.

    Absolutely disgusting.

Not heard a Capristo before but that's incredible. Bet it sounds even better in the flesh.

    This is Graham's mum :(

I never brought him up to behave like this, he must get it from his dad's side of the family.

If this is the kind of company he is keeping he shan't be allowed to play out on a Sunday again.

And the state of his room...

Fantastic. GrahamS, do you know if they make a Capristo for the 328?

Only ever seen them advertised for 348, 355 & 360. But having said I've never seen a Tubi advertised for a 328 or a 308 but you can definitely get one of those so I guess the answer is I don't know.

Send me a PM if you want to know where I got mine from in the UK and I'll give you the details. Alternatively Heiko at HGParts sells them so may be able to advise also

I still don't have the confidence to order a Capristo over a Tubi. I can't fathom how they can release a product onto the market which melts bumpers (my mates 99 360 Coupe). They need to test it and make all the updates and THEN we'll see.

Guys, when you did the film, were you fully revving the ITO?? It does not sounds anywhere near as loud as Grahams Capristo, however when I heard Bernards ITO before (at full chat, from behind) it was crazy loud!! I think the ITO and Cap are on a par with each other really.

Does anyone want to buy a 12 month old Tubi for 500 quid? he he..:)

Has anyone got a quicksilver installed? I'd like to hear one of these as well before I swap...

Also didn't think the ITO was being fully revved although I seem to recall being in the queue for a burger when it was happening. So my memory of the event is somewhat tarnished as I had other priorities at the time!

However, having heard Basher's car, complete with de-cat, being revved I can confirm that the words stunning and awesome don't even come close to describing the sound.

Sod the Capristo, get a de-cat ITO you know it makes sense :)

I'd have got one myself but funds didn't really stretch to spending another grand on top of what I'd already paid

    Ade,

When I made the film of the ITO and Tubi, you were stood right next to me (that was at Box Hill). You can even be heard speaking on the Tubi section. The Tubi one was done right after the ITO.

I think Bernard may not have hit the red-line with his ITO like Graham did (or at least it felt that way when I was stood behind Graham's filming!).

You should also all be aware that Graham has his bypass valve wired open. I have read that this makes a significant difference to the sound when the engine is not under load - something about the engine not generating enough vacuum to open the bypass valve fully if it isn't under load (i.e. the car is in neutral and not moving). That part might be bollox, I don't know, but it is certainly an explanation as to why the idle on the Capristo car is louder than the others.

    Yup, guilty as charged.

The sound also increased at lower rev's when I fitted the K & N's so I may have been cheating slightly re the lower end noise. Top end is au naturelle though

ITO was rev'ed to about 6K~6.5K, don't like running up to the red line off load!

Wiring the bypass valve open amkes a hell of a lot of difference at tickjover..... I had mine wired open at Bruntingthorpe adn at tickover its very fluffy and loud, now its working normally adn unassisted it is relatively humble at tickover....still not sure the valve works fully though as in 1st sometimes it wont open at all....mmmm......
