are you going to test run it on the stand?? i may be wrong , but i was under the impression it wont go back in bieng THAT put back together. i was under the impression that the engine was more or less bare to come out?????? ( sans carbs and valve covers???? ) really cool pics, great thread topic. it would be good to know you can get one back in that way!!!!!!!!!

The carb's were not on when the engine went in, everything else was there. Engine, tranny, clutch all in one unit back in, then headers, exhaust and carbs went on once it was in the engine bay.

    Thanks Don!

    Hi Jay,
Great pics. How is the car now? Do you still use original ignition wire?

The car has really been trouble free. Once however I lost spark to 4 cylinders which turned out to be a short in one of the harness wires running to the coil. Hasn't happened since we changed the terminal connections. Ignition wires are new, custom made.

Will it go back in with the header on? I removed mine to get it out.

It's insane that Ferrari still has these "Engine out service" schedules! How long does it take to do a major on a 355...a week?

Yep- it went in and out with the front header attached, but no bell housing.
We figured it would be easier to install the bell with the engine in than the front header.

great pictures everyone. That 308 GT4 engine is about the cleanest one I've ever seen.
