It is no secret I want one but don't want to pay over MSRP
(well maybe a little). I was talking to Graham Cox (GM of Symbolic)
at the Lamborghini event last weekend. He said "I would pay $50,000
over right on for an immediate delivery car!"

Guess I'll be waiting for a while?

$50K over would be a gift. I have been looking for weeks for a good client of mine and the best I have been able to find is $75K over for a January delivery car. A car on the ground right now would be a "Presidential" car and is likely to be much higher than $75K over.

The center painted stripe is causing huge delays for production causing the pricing to go up for a quick delivery car.

at 150k , the car is a steal.....at 200k, it is too close to used murci money....as cool as the gt is, i would take an exotic 12cyclinder, state of the art lambo beast over the gt..prices will come down , but the hype has to end and the supple has to increase...it could be a while, have a snikers bar....

    Hello Jonathan !!

That is rediculous. I suppose there is always someone that will pay; to be at the front of the line ? I remember the 1990 ZR-1. 50/75K over ? !!! It is not like they are only going to build 200. - Take a cold shower and wait.

Other than a few cars that are in celebrity and collector hands, are there any in "civilian" hands? How many cars have been produced so far? Production problems? Production line photos? Showroom pictures? I haven't heard anyone, or seen any posts, showing their GT.

I like the car but the lack of "in the wild" GT evidence have me concerned that this car is not real.

An acquaintance of mine is taking delivery of a black/silver car (which is apparently pretty rare) in February. I think he already has an offer of $225K.

Ralph, I understand your response, but you obviously are not looking for one iether. Yes the market will do some heavy adjustment once several cars are on the ground and available, but if you want one right now you must be willing to "pay for your enjoyment".

I personally think paying over sticker for anything is a shocker, but being the first to own a big boy toy will always cost extra.

My response just comes from spending the past several weeks looking for a on the ground because the car my customer ordered is experiencing heavy delays because of the center painted stripe. The absolute best price I have heard of for a car in the next two months is $70K over sticker and the said I would have to take whatever color/options they wanted to give me.

My customer has just decided to wait until the car he ordered comes in and see what the market does.

I wouldn't pay over sticker either. I went to the Ford dealer in my 355 the other day and they wanted 80K over sticker. I asked the guy what American super car has not taken a serious dive in value after coming out and he agreed there isn't one. I think in a year or so we will see some really good prices on them. That is if they can get them out. I saw one at the State Fair in Dallas the other day and it just makes me drool. They are so fine looking. Especially from the rear.

I know a few people at a very large Ford store in San Bernardino county, CA. They'll probably get a GT40 (they got a 2000 Cobra R before they expanded) and I might, MIGHT be able to work something out. San Berdoo isn't spilling over with money, so the market may not be that strong. They did, however, sell their 2000 Cobra R to a guy in Florida for a large mar-up.

    Lemme know.

There are all types of Ford GT's rolling around southeastern Michigan. Ford Engineers have been taking GT's home for a while now. I see a few a week. They all have manufacturers plates on them. The picture you posted could have been taken in Michigan near one of the many lakes there. My guess is the guy in the picture is a Ford employee.

    Remember the Gallardo...

$50k over sticker before they were shipping...all that...blah blah blah

Ford GT will be the same or worse. Just like the T-bird.

This is not to say any of these are not fine cars...well...except the T-bird....

I would like to have a Ford GT myself...but will bet $100 a year from now you will get one below sticker on the secondary market after the speculators scatter.

WHere in houston. I wanna go see it. Planet Ford. I 45 N maybe. That's right by my dads house. In every official description I see of the GT the weight is not listed and that is one of the rumored problems surrounding the late delivery of these cars. That e-bay add list weight distribution but not weight. Hhmmm. What the hell are they trying to hide. Check Fords official site. No weight.

I'll probably go check it out in the next day or so and fill you in. It's funny, last December we bought a car from them and I asked about putting down a deposit for the GT... the sales guy talked to his manager and said they'll be selling it for $500K and wanted a $50K deposit. After I stopped laughing, which was sometime in early summer, I e-mailed them and they said they wanted $250K. I have a feeling they'll be selling for MSRP next summer.

I estimate the premiums to be in the range of $50K - $75K, and for them to last about six months, till the supply / demand equates somewhat. Given the history of the Gallardo, and even "supercars" like the Porsche Carrera GT, which dealers are now having difficulty moving even at list, there is no question that GT's will be selling for at or below MSRP within six - nine months.

Wasn't Doody seriously looking to get one? Maybe his new CS caused him to change his mind.
