Alienating your team is never a particularly good idea...

I thought it was idiotic the way Button so publicly announced he was leaving BAR and moving to Williams.

When Michael made the Benetton --> Ferrari move, it was all very diplomatically handled. Even during the Jordan --> Benetton move late '91, he made a deliberate effort to distance himself from the politics and controversy for the exact purpose of minimising his chances of being thought of by people in the light than Button is held in now; i.e. disloyal, selfish and not terribly gracious.

Thats exactly how i view JB now. Just a prat who is after the $$ and fame. Not in it for the passion.

Ok, how 'bout this.... I just read that Renault is shifting major funding away from F1 to Ralley Cars. Is this the beginning of the end of Renault in F1? How soon until the demise? Since they just announced it, are they just preping for a major F1 anouncement for next year? Where will these drivers end up?

BTW, Richards still stinks. He will have to go before that team has any success. Prost maybe?

I didn't realise DC was still around. I remember he was useful in one respect; when you saw a magazine with "DC - next year is my year" on the cover you knew it was time to start your Christmas shopping!

As for Webber's team-mate for 2005, it looks most likely that it will be Pizzonia.

    Anthony,

That's hilarious. Reminds me of the "talking Kimi" doll that was posted last year.

Haven't seen you post in quite some time, hope all is going well on your side of the pond !

    Cheers,

    Jon

All is starting to go better. It's been a rough 12 months, but the divorce is now finalised. I have my kids living with me and I have a new girlfriend. As a wise man once said "Next year is my year"!!! ;)

the rumor in the pits is that dr is planning to have jb be test driver only.....and give ant his chance. jb's cost is only $1.5 MIL and ant is basiclaly free, so costwise its the same for dr, and he can see if ant is up to the task, and give jb his due for being a traitor......

then the next rumor is that hakk has committed to dtm, but could possibly be pulled back in by the bmw boys......

the next rumor is that fisi is definetely on frank's list, even tho he is talking only about pizza boy at the moment.....the problem being that williams can only talk about 1 year given that he is committed to taking jb in 06....so maybe pizza is the lucky guy this year.....

briatore does not want to spend the money to free up jv, but sauber may get some help from ferrari to assuage the loss, and take on one of the farm team boys from italy for the second seat.....

net/net. it sounds like the most likely scenario is that ant drives the bar, and pizza drives the williams. all other positions remain unchanged.

Very good point. Read "The Piranha Club" for the details on how it happened that MS was moved from Jordan to Benetton. Very dirty game behind the scenes, but nothing was leaked to the public. And because it was done amongst the team managers, there was no fallout as in the Button case.

Okay so who will drive for Williams next year?
    Heidfeld, Pizzonia, Coulthard or Davidson?

If I was Frank Williams I would go for Heidfeld right away and DC would be my 2nd choice. (He did great when he drove for them in the past)

There is even rumors of Fisichella switching from Renault to Williams. I think that would be even better for Fisico. And JV will stay with Renault if everything works out.

We could also add Liuzzi to the list who could get a Williams drive. Remember Liuzzi tested a Williams BMW in 2002, so I`m sure he still in touch with them.
