Does anyone know of a good way to get from Gatwick to Nuneaton in
Warwickshire? I cant seem to get a decent flight from Dallas to Birmingham so I have to fly in to Gatwick. They all seem to go through Switzerland or Germany.

I know I can take the train but I do not know how difficult that may be. Is there a car service or shuttle service that can take me?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Firstly Nick- DON'T TAKE A TAXI!! It'll cost a fortune. I don't know of a shuttle as such, so my guess is that you have 4 options:
    1) Bus
    2) Train
    3) Chauffeur-type service
    4) Rent a car

For the first two you will need to get from the airport into central London, and get to Nuneaton from there.

    Bus

This will almost certainly be the slowest way, but assuming you're dragging luggage around with you after a long flight with not much sleep, it may be the easiest.

    Rail
You will need to take a train into one of the main railway stations in central london. The simplest is probably Thameslink:

Depending which station you go to, you can then choose a direct rail connection to Nuneaton

    Chauffeur-type service
This will probably be the most expensive (though don't take it for granted), but it is the way I prefer to get home when I fly back from the US. There are lots of companies that do this, and the locals on here will be able to suggest alternatives. The company I use is this one: http://www.chauffeurdrive.co.uk/prices.html

If you're feeling brave, and awake, hiring a car may be your best option. The route is fairly simple and you can always ask for a car with satnav to help you out.

    Have a good trip!

I'd recommend hiring a car- at least that will get you to exactly where you want to go.

Train service is OK, but will be less straightforward and may be slow...

    K & Robert,

Thank you very much. It is a consulting assignment and not a holiday so the Chauffeur-type service is probably the one I will go with.

Is there a company you reccomend?

Normally I would rent a car with Sat Nav (doing that in 2 week in Germany and hooking up with Wolfgang) but I am hooking up with others that have a direct flight to Birmingham.

    Thank you again,

    Nick

Hi, I used to do the Dallas / Gatwick trip every month - Guess you are on the AA flight as it was only AA that had direct Gatwick flights (4:30 ish leave from DFW from what I remember). Anyhow up until a couple of months ago I travelled a lot and used a car service close to Gatwick (Merc). Very reliable, polite, and good price. If you want the number PM me and I will send it over. I use this person to pick my child up from school on occasions so trust him fully.
