There's a V-shaped logo on the hood, kind of like a half-Renault thing. Don't rule out a kit-based car. I have a hard time thinking someone would haul around a $2M car on a flatbed.
David, I don't think its a Lotus (similar), but might be a lola. By the way, I once new a girl named Elva she was cute and small! Jerrari, Might be gay but it makes a damn good go-cart! These little english racers are fun to drive and cheap to own. Regards, Art S.

Great detective work! Knowing the car, I found a site with the following statement Talbot-Maserati (Dubonet) from Le Mans 1957. The car which was once described as "One of the most beautiful (and least successful - the prop having given way after a yard and a half) Le Mans cars of all time".
I know looks are subject to taste but I don't see how someone can call that car ugly or anything even remotely along those lines. I think it's stunning.
