Just got back from Chicago. If it rains we'll reschedule. I just checked and Sunday ain't lookin' too bad at this point! As for now we have a good group and we can do the same route as last time, hit the Diner in Yorkville and then head south on the Taconic or another "nice" road. From there we can split off once we hit the NYC area and those heading down to FoNJ can do so and the others can go on their way. Sound like a plan? So far we have... 993 Guy - Eric Ghost - Vik Michael 355 Michael ClydeM - Clyde Black355 - Emil sjmst - Sam DodgeViper01 - Keith Mr. NSX - Bailey GreenBoxster - Mike GregG - Gmoney (aka Greg) fastaone - Peter lupe - Lupe Notoboy - David JC360 - Jon robiferretti - Rob Should be a great run...Let's hope for good weather.
Rain Pussssies should not be allowed to have the EC in their avatars! they should have 'RP' instead of 'EC'
Well, it poured on the Mondi while on the LIE on the way home from CIN. Surprise! The wipers worked, no leaks, and it didn't melt. Cool. Oh, and had three kids in the car. Mondi POWER.
I know how you guys are and if it is raining and you guys are driving the way you normally do it is very dangerous. Speeding at 80+ Miles an hour in the rain is not the smartest idea. I prefer to stay alive.
we do not drive 80+ in the rain... at least i dont.. thats insane. but i DO drive in the rain, that is what hubert was referring to, driving in the rain period, whether its 10 mph or 100 mph, we aint no RPs! i respect the EC crew in that repect, that we aINt nO cRySTaL coVE wC sUKKa wHO sTAndS aROund AdMIrinG rPS garaGE wUEEns we love our cars and we drive them in the sun or rain.
Agreed but each time I have driven in the rain I have been in the back because of the speed going. I remember for example when we had the party at my house and the guys shot to the city. 80 - 100 MPH the whole way and it was raining pretty hard. And people wonder why I am in the back? I totally agree, with you guys, drive the cars rain or shine but I just do not like be stupid about it.
i'm not sure about the other nutjobs in the EC , but when it is raining hard, i certainly dont want to go 100mph.
Mr. Woods, I have to say that you are the oldest 19 year old I have ever met! I mean that in a good way (well, kind of...). ;-) As for driving in the rain, the run on Sunday is to enjoy the foliage, friends, and a good drive. It's not a matter of driving in the rain or not. We will go if it isn't raining and will reschedule if it does just based on the premise of the run. I drive in the rain all the time and as we know a good number of us do. In this instance, if it rains...it defeats the purpose of the run. So with that said...IT WILL NOT RAIN ON SUNDAY! Or so I hope not... We'll update the final decision Sat. evening.
but seriously, that time we drove to the euro car meet, bright sunny day, u were slower that the miata!
The pro-weather models and sites I look at and study indicate Sunday AM will be dry here in a little wedge of high pressure separating rain east of here associated with a big ocean storm and a front coming in from eastern PA. I am leaving for London later Sunday but will try to get my trip prep done so put vinnycar 348 Spider down for definite maybe.
