    What does it do? as fitted to a mondial ?
    How do you know if it is working?

    Where is it fitted? Could be used for a number of things.
    Most common use of accelerometers on 10 year old (or so) cars was as knock sensors. In this form it would be fitted to the cylinder head.

    It is fitted under the front bumper area. No other details on it.
    It is connected to the front wiring harness, just near the radiator.

    See the "SUSPENSIONS" section of your Mondial T OM -- page F4 and F5. Related to the suspension control system trying to reduce the chassis motion under hard acceleration or decelleration.
