I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my gwife has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked her mobile up just to see what time it was and she went beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with her. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel where the body meets the bodykit

Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local auto shop and try to repair it myself? It's a really big spot and I dont want it to spread.

Hire a P.I. for some pics and details, and get the rust fixed.

Sorry to hear about your troubles!!

Once the rust is fixed correctly, it will never return. It also might be worth it to check out the rest of the car to make sure it will not develop in the future in other areas. Seek professional help.

    oh and...drop the wife.

AlanH..I am deeply saddened to hear of the rust on your car. This happened to me once and I was devistated. I did'nt know what to do. I wandered the streets aimlessly for days. I finally consulted a very close friend for the answers. Once I pulled myself together, I got it repaired and moved on with life.

Good luck with your situation my brother. You will get through it!

The description of a taxi "setting off" instead of "driving away," and the use of the word mobile instead of cell makes me think this is from the UK.

Consider trading for a newer, lower mileage model. You'll have to kick in some cash, but it will be worth it.

OMG Alan, I suspected the same thing once. I just tried to block it out (you know, ignore it & it will go away) but something like this is a life changing event and you cannot just "ignore it". Actually, the problem got worse as time went on....oh sure, we'd go out and have fun together but it just didn't feel right, not like old times. Finally I decided to seek some professional help and my worst fears were realized, my 308 had lower door panel cancer. It sucked. I fixed it with spit and tape and broomed it. So actually, it didn't really change my life that much. Nevermind.

I think you should probe some of your wife's friends' cars for rust while you are checking. You may get a group rate on the repair.

sounds like a perfect opportunity to upgrade to a more sporty and involving model. Maybe time to take the plunge and try a 12-cylinder redhead? After what you've found, it'll never be quite the same with the current one!
