I think your car looks great without them. If I was ordering from the factory, I'd get them. Without the indentations, they never look right...IMHO. I also think they don't belong on models that don't race, so they don't belong on Mondials, 456's, 400's, etc. Again, just my opinion. Don't do it.

I put a pair of the "better" magnetic shields on my 328 and the car definitely looks better with them on; in fact they look like they came with the car. For now, they stay!

Enzo put the shields on the special cars...
To shield is to run the risk of a visit from the weaping ghost of cam shaft seal.
    What would Enzo do?

Now that was for the purist...Go ahead and do what you think looks good...it's your car. If Enzo really cared, he would have made spider tops that kept the rain out and hood cables that didn't snap when you were down a quart.

I didn't think the shields were very "discreet", so I bought some stickers and mounted them on the rear quarter windows on my 348. Like so. These are only 1" wide x 2" tall. The Ferrari shield came from the dealer. The "Made in Italy" sticker came from a Ducati shop.

Just my personal opinion as a former Mondial owner- They don't look right of the car, there isn't very much space there and there are lot of things going on with the wheel arch, door frame, mirror and such. It makes that part of car look busy.

    All the best

I'd stick with magnetic(get it?), that way you've got the options. I'm a purist and like to keep things the way they were originally designed. But heck, it's your car do what you want.

I'd vote no for the same reasons as dakharris: race cars only get the badge treatment.

I like the wheels - looks great.

I wouldn't put permanent shields on the car if it was mine. A good set of magnetic or plastic badges that stick on would be ideal, so you could remove them if or when you ever wanted to.

In the end, do what you like and enjoy it, thats what counts ;)

On most I love the shields, but on your car it looks best with no shields in my opinion...

The purists will tell you that shields only go on racecars and don't belong on road cars... They'll also tell you that's a Mondial, not a Modena and that you need to get your original wheels back on... Who cares what they think...? If you want to put shields on the car, put shields on the car... It's YOURS, make it look how YOU want it to look...

If the car didn't have it when it left Maranello, then no.

I mean you don't want people confusing it with NNO's ride, do you?

It's true that on the Mondial there is not much room there. But it depends on the model: there is plenty of room on the 328.

As I said, I think my car looks better with them, but I also think the "better" magnetic shields are the way to go. They honestly look nearly as good as the expensive permanent shields some of the new models come with, are thinner, and can be taken off or replaced at will. And they only cost me $10 each!

Personally I don't think shields look quite right on Mondials.

But, if you do add them, use the magnetic resin shields, that way you can take them on or off easily.

On my old 308 QV, sometimes I had the shields and other times I didn't, depending on my mood and where I was going with the car that day (F1 race party, etc..).

I can't use them on my Boxer because it has aluminum fenders and there's NO WAY that I would ever stick the permanent ones on it.

I honestly don't think anyone will ever confuse my car with NNO's. If they do, I want to know where they get their meds.
