sad loss of a business and cars. glad no one was hurt though. this is what makes the remaining examples worth more.
I've been @ Munsterhuis a few weeks ago. At least 1 Enzo, 3 or 4 360's a couple of 355,some classic Ferrari's and a lot of Maserati's in the showroom. In technical part there are always 8 a 10 customer cars.
Guys, guys - we should be happy that there was no people inside...cars "can" be replaced, not humans.... But of course, this IS very sad...
Check out the pic: http://www.telegraaf.nl/binnenland/15212911/Ferrari_s_verloren_bij_brand_Hengelo.html That hurts...
really sad news.....the fireman couldn't take out the cars, they were locked, due to insurance rules...............nice, now all those beauties are gone......
Many can't be replaced, maybe recreated from a half melted piece of chassisframe that contains the chassis # (take it to nearby http://hietbrink.com/ ) Weird, normally insurance companies demand the keys to be with the cars, like behind the sunvisors, just for these cases when there is fire. It is true that they can be stolen more easily this way and it happens, just driving of through the showroom window but cars get stolen max 2-3 at a time, while a fire gets them all. Some of the cars were not insured due to their value, the newspaper article said.
don't think there was a 250 gto, the only dutch GTO I know is owned by the owner of another dutch f-dealer:Kroymans. the Enzo can be true, cause there are 3-5 in the netherlands but it's very bad to see this indeed!!!
IF (and I repeat: IF) there was a "250 GTO" destroyed by the fire, it is VERY PROBABLY a replica, because there is one German client who has his cars at Munsterhuis quite often, who has such a replica. Now, I wonder what he's going to tell the insurance company ....
I hope everyone got out safely, least not forget these are only cars beautiful cars but cars just the same.
Like others on here...I am amazed that there was not some sort of high end fire prevention system in place....especially with a showroom full of Ferraris!!!!
They are not "just cars" at all. Yes, we all hope everyone got out OK, but if we lost some rare irreplaceable cars, that is very tragic as well.
