Yes, I take my 355 to work very often.
Interestingly my neighbor who is a dentist actually gets sh*t from patients about his BMW. One guy even said, "do I really need root canal or am I paying for your BMW?" I told him to take MY car to work one day! LOL

Very true, when I was doing Drivers Ed about 3 years ago, I saw a new 911 Turbo, and commented on the car to my instructor. She was under the impression that it was worth roughly the same as her civic! Needless to say I lost it.

It's OK to drive it to work as long as you don't have the bumper sticker that reads 'Don't laugh, it's paid for'!

I usually drive my car to work once a week. Most of my coworkers know about it, since they remember me lusting for one for a while, and when I bought it.

Funny story: A while back we got a new CEO, who originally came from out east. He was talking to a group of us one day and commenting on the differences between east coast and west coast, and one of the differences was that out here everybody drove nice cars. He then stated "I've even seen a Ferrari parked in the parking lot at this place".

From 1975 to 1995 I drove Ferraris to work. Never in winter however, as upstate NY is pretty well salt-covered from November to March. At different times, I drove a 250 GT P/F coupe, a Daytona, two GT/4s, a Mondial, a 330 2+2, and the car I drive today, a 330 GTC.
I also drove the GTC as an everyday car, to the store, vet, the lake - everywhere. In general, the more I drove them the better they ran.
I never had so much as a parking lot ding. On GT/4 was vandalized - the door window broken to steal the Escort. That was in 1978 - the only incident.
DRIVE YOUR CARS - enjoy them. Why save them for the next guy?

    - driven to work about once a week
    - parked in the underground parking of my condo, completely exposed
    - never any problems, only admirers that frequently get too close for my comfort while driving (i.e. tailgating young punks)
    - no nasty comments from people at work, just the standard envy based initial line "what does insurance cost for that thing?"

It's just been a good experience all around.

I bought my 355 to drive it so it goes to work w/ me most days of the week. I live only 2 miles from my office so it barely gets warmed up by the time I get there but my mechanic says that is no problem. If I had a longer commute I would not drive it so much due to the excessive mileage I would add to it. Some here have mentioned the insurance restrictions of driving to work. I'm w/ State Farm and I get a low-milage discount by staying under 7,500 miles/yr. w/ no restrictions on how you spend those miles.

The people at work are excited for me and like to ask about the car and I've taken several people for a ride. It helps that we have a private covered parking structure for our building and that there are several nice cars parked there such as a 360 4 parking stalls down from mine, a Bentley Continental and all kinds of bimmers and mercedes. So there isn't much of a jealousy issue for me to worry about.

Two to four times a week, depending on the commute and the traffic reports. The other days it's the Boxster S. At my "day jobs" most people tend not to be all that into cars so they tend not to notice. Those that do tend to react positively.

I have driven my 348 to work a few times. What was funny was the reaction of the guards at the gate. Almost all of the time I'm in my Acura. One week I had to drive the Ferrari everyday to work, because the Acura wasn't running very well. The guards were shock to see me pull up in it. Others at work know I have it, but some had yet to see it. For the most part everyone is cool about it. Once in a while I get teased about it, but nothing big deal.

me too jim well not since 1971 but i work from 530am to 9pm. the only time i get to drive my car is when i drive to and from work, which can some times be two hours there and back in traffic but i dont mind.

As for careing what my employes think thats a touchy one but i feel all my employes know how hard i work and they also know that i am there for them at any given time during the course of the work day. I am not affraid to get my hands dirty with them if they need a helping hand and or if we are so busy that there is no one around. I will get out there and do it myself. So this is how i have gained respect by commimng in earlyer then anyone and leaving later then anyone lend a helping hand from time to time and your employes will respect you and if anything give them the inspiration to someday own there own company.

Its when you depracate them do they not want to respect you and tend to sit around and do nothing but talk about how much of a rich prick you are.

most of my employes know i own another bussines as well and have houses that i rent out so they understand the position i am in. The workaholic position that is.

I under certain conditions use my Ferrari for work when taking certain customers out for lunch. I have found customers I have done business with a long time and know who I am and what I stand for have no problem. I would say the one's I am really close to look forward to being driven to lunch in a Ferrari.
I have one customer who says make sure you check weather coditions before you call me for lunch so I will bring Ferrari.
I guess it all comes down to common sense.

I only got two cars and almost always drive the 911 to work as it's not by far as offensive as the 348.
On those rare occasions that I drive the 348 to work I usually park it in the visitors parking lot as it is more secure than the other one and my collegues won't spot it.
Last time I drove the 348 to work I really got to experience the pros and cons of F-driving.
The drive to work was just wonderful, a free part of the highway where I could rev it to the redline through the gears almost up to fourth.
The drive home on the otherhand was a nightmare.
There was an accident just a few miles from work which made the traffic crawl at just a couple of miles an hour.
Stop and go traffic with a heavy clutch and the famous Ferrari shift gate...
I didn't have to work out more that week...

Sometimes it is the only reason I bother going to work. Why work from home when you can drive a Ferrari to the office? :)

I usually take my car to work once a week or so. I get the usual jibes about not driving what I sell but it doesn't bother me. Most people (fellow employees and customers alike) are pretty cool with the car. Others just think it's some kind of special Camaro or Corvette. No big deal.

I try to take mine to work every day that is not going to rain, which is most days. People at work were a bit surprised when I showed up in the Ferrari, but once they know how much you paid for it, they realize that a 308 is not that crazy. Now they seem to like it...

Traffic to and from work is not bad either, so I never get stuck for long. These older cars, the more you drive them, the better they feel/sound/go!

Once a week, and with 2 people, you get the HOV lane. That means a commute about 1/2 hour less time in the traffic.
