Hi, This is my first thread here at ferrarichat.com. Just been looking around and it seems a useful site! I am a proud owner of a beautiful 1986 Testarossa in Giallo Fly, photo on my profile. I have had it a year now and hope to use it a lot more this year as I spent last year travelling with work around Europe. Anyway, I need to get the top of the dashboard as it looks like a wrinkled mess! A common problem with TR's. Has anyone repaired this at all or had it done? If so anything to look out for? I don't mind having a go myself, but some pointers could be useful. Many thanks, Pete (I have posted this as well in the main Technical Q&A in case anyone else in the world has done this, hope that's okay)
Hi Peter, Welcome to F-Chat...a good place to be! I can't answer your question, but will refer your posting to Wolfgang Eistert on the Euorpe list. He is a fellow Testarossa owner and well connected. Good luck! Cheers from St. Albans, MARK
Welcome to Fchat! Hat's off to providing a profile, as well. Should no one offer info, you can search the archives at the bottom of the site for info. It's a common problem with the dash. I think it has to be removed to recover properly. I'll ask my tech and post tomorrow!
Hi peter hope you enjoy f-chat,very nice TR you have there, sorry can't help with the dash problem, Dale.
Hi Pete, beautiful fly yellow testarossa from the very first series, congratulation!!!! I love the singel high mirror. I will ask/call my garage master later in the afternoon - hopefuly he can help you. Stay in touch Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
Pete, Like my colleagues, I welcome you to this esteemed organ... Hope to see you at one of our meets Stig
Pete, Welcome to FChat. Can't help directly with the trim prob, but Mototechnique and KHPC seem to do a good job from what I've seen. Regards Robert.
Pete, Welcome on board. Can't help with the problem but try KHPC or Rosneath Engineering. Great car Darren
Hi, Many thanks for all the replies so far, its nice to see a good bunch of people out there. I hope to get to more social events in the TR very soon and it would be good to put names to faces. I have been in contact with Moto Marque and they have quoted me £1k +VAT, which isn't bad considering the massive labour involved. I have had a good response from posting this message in the Technical Q&A. Thanks once again. Pete
You could try Southbound trimmers (they advertise in the FOC news) but Mototechniques work is fantastic
