Hi, i notice that the brakes on my 93' 348 start jamming after the car heats up. The car doesnt roll at all when the car is hot. Are there any repair kits for the calipers, and would this cure the issue.
    Please let me know- thanks

Have you established that all four calipers are sticking, as it would seem strange that they were all siezing. Can you establish if it's just the fronts or the rears?

Has the car been "laid-up" for a while?

You could have, for example a problem with the main hydraulic servo unit or the brake pump.

Have any of the brake warning lights come on?

Repair kits are not available from Ferrari, but you may be able to get them direct from Brembo or Teves depending on which calipers you have.

Just for information purposes, I can tell you that I let the rear brake pads get very thin on my 1990 348ts before replacing them, and I noticed that the brakes were starting to drag at stop lights and the rear wheels were getting noticeably hotter than the fronts.

When I removed the old pads, they were worn unevenly, obviously not sitting totally "square" in the calipers any more. I replaced the rear pads with new ones, and did nothing else at all to the brakes. The brakes no longer drag at all. And the rear wheels are noticeably cooler to the touch. It would seem that the problem was simply that the pads were too thin for the calipers to hold them straight, and they were binding.

You should have your braking system carefully checked (including the handbrake mechanism) by someone who knows what he is doing. But it's possible that the problem is something quite minor.

Thanks. I hope its something minor. On checking the which wheel is jamming, I find the front left one sticking. The rear left also but marginally. Any views.
