Donald W. Y. Fong was, for many years, a Ferrari dealer and service facility here in Atlanta, GA. A fair number of great Ferraris passed through his hands in the old days. He had a reputation for sharp (some would say shady, unethical or illegal) business practices--a rather common feature in those days of many of the people in his line of business. He eventually ran afoul of the wrong man who pursued legal action against him. This pretty much put him out of the business.

These VIR photos from this era look familiar to me because in 63-64 I was racing there in IKF enduros (go-karts) as a teenager. I never got to see the Ferraris that participated there in the 50s and early 60s. I went there in the late 60s as a spectator and in the early 70s as a participant in my SCCA DP Lotus S7 and later in my AP Vette. Anyone who has lapped VIR will tell you it is an outstanding, challenging, fun road course. It is great to see it has been resurrected after being shut down in 75. Now that it is back in operation and better than ever I have running laps at VIR near the top of my list of things to do! Yale, Bob Grossman is in the blue driving suit and standing next to 4713. The man in shorts posing with 3309 is not Grossman and, as Gerald says, has not yet been identified here.
