"The Beauty of Grey" by Live for some reason you never asked why this is not a black and white world you can't afford to believe in your side this is not a black and white world to be alive I say that the colors must swirl and I believe that maybe today we will all get to appreciate the beauty of grey
Drivin' to the Poorhouse, in my Limousine......Joe Ely Roses Ain't Enough (for a Girl Like You) Jesse Dayton
My favorite song by Cindy Lauper was always Time After Time... i would hear and sing along, since as far back as i can remember...
In this dirty old part of the city Where the sun refuse to shine People tell me there ain't no use in tryin ... We gotta get outta this place if it's the last thing we ever do -- Grand Funk Railroad. or There's a man they call the software ranger Every day he just keeps gettin' stranger Gets caffene-spawned D.T.'s Writes apps in Klingonese Odda are he'll be out-sourced by tomorrow Nerdy Hacker Man Nerdy Hacker Man He rewrites Unix kernels But they've given him NT.
"Spit" from Kiss http://www.lyricstime.com/lyrics/27834.html . . . Uhm, other than that I love tunes like "Nothing to gein" from Mudvayne, "Aerials" from System of a Down, "Space Kadet" from Kyuss and a lot of other things from Lifer, American Headcharge, 40 Below Summer, Stereomud, Machine Head, Nonpoint, Meshuggah, Nothingface etc. In my age group (at 41) I´m quite alone with my taste for music ...
You sure as hell are, but there's gotta be other folks out there in your age range that like those groups... System is one of my all time favorites; Nonpoint is another great band... Mudvayne and Stereomud are okay; Machine Head isn't too bad, either... i'm not sure if i've ever heard 40 Below, Mechuggah or Nothingface... Do you like Tool...? Metallica...? Apex Theory...? Sum 41...?
Tool is a all time classic! Metallica? Well, for my taste a bit to mainstream-ish ... Never heard of Apex Theory or Sum 41, but given your other favourites I will check them out. Thanx for the hint!
I should have added more to my list, it all depends on my mood like anyone else. Here's a sample. ZZ Top - Manic Mechanic Butthole Surfers - Who was in room last night Fu Manchu - Hell on Wheels Rollins Band - Shine Garuda - Cold Wired Sentiment Jane's Addiction - Ocean Sized Nirvana - the man who Sold the World.
"If I Had a Rocket Launcher", by that great Canadian singer, Bruce Cockburn, with that great line, ' If I had a rocket launcher, some son of a ***** would die ! ' This song comes to mind all the time when I drive in Atlanta traffic...
Yes, Metallica's definitely main stream, but they're good... i spent most of my life hating them; i couldn't stand to listen to them... Over time, though, i guess i fostered an appreciation... Now i really like them... Apex Theory is different; not like Metallica or Tool or Mudvayne, but still pretty cool... Sum 41 seems to be maturing with their second album; try to check out their latest release, 'Chuck', with their latest single - i can't remember the name of it, though... As an aside, they named their latest album Chuck because they were in the Congo doing some sort of benefit and they were subject to open fire from some sort of guerillas - some dude named Chuck was there and they told him, "If you get us out of here alive, we'll name our next album after you"... Pretty cool, i think...
My song would be Elton John's Rocket Man. The line " All the science I don't understand, it's just my job five days a week" sums things up pretty good for me. I have made my living for 23 years calling on design engineers in electronics. I can talk the talk and walk the walk and still get confused tying to figure out Ohm's law. I guess my lack of a higher education has made me a master at KISS.
