    there are butterfly valves on the exhaust of the 550. what purpose do these serve? they are only on the two inside tips.... can i remove them? :) seems like a restriction to me...

    They are controlled by vacuum. At low RPM, they remain closed, to promote torque. At high RPM & load, they open to promote flow & HP. Yes, they can be removed, for a much better exhaust sound at idle & low RPM.

    I thought they also made sure air didn't go into the exhaust during downshifting, which erases backpressure and equals less rpm? Somethin like that. Maybe that's BOVs...
