I'm sure you called your neighborly Ferrari parts shop T. Rutlands, I read that they make an aluminum replacement for the part that breaks all the time. Maybe that's what was $150, I don't know!

Check to make sure that the hose "the lower one, is not rubbing on the chassis rail. Also, if it was a OEM ferrari replacement part, there should be a date on the oil filler side that looks like this "1/90" for Jan 1990 for the build date of the hose. If the date is older then 7 or 8 years, change it for cheap insurance.

Congrats Michael....she is a beauty. I went to Maranello Madness at Moroso Motorsports track (palm beach,FL) and saw a QV GTB lapping at fine speeds not seeming to care about the newer more expensive toys going around the track. I have a question for you if you would be so kind......I know you bought you GTB far away and was wondering how you arranged the transaction. Did you fly out to see the car? Did a PPI, or did you trust the sellers. Feel free not to answer if you find the questions intruding. Finally, after spending time Saturday with dozens of Ferraris I must say that 308's and 328's are beautiful as they come. Enjoy!

Good shot of how the Campi wheels are 'sharper' edged, than the Speedlines...

i did not do a PPI, nor did i look and see in person neither the 308GTS NOR THIS 308GTB. i asked Tube Guy to look over the car. the only thing that sucks is the car is overdue for a belt service and the clutch is slipping, so i must replace them all at the same time. i got the car dirt cheap so its no big deal. it took me several months to get the Marrone 308GTS where it would run and drive well in traffic. it should only take a few weeks of tinkering to get this car "right". i do strongly reccommend seeing the car in person and having a shop inspect the car.

Are you doing the belts and clutch yourself?

Just wondering if the single side mirror is correct, and if so would it be a big deal to add one to the passenger side? The car looks a little unbalanced without it.

I agree a Euro front spoiler would really enhance the looks. No matter what, you have a beautiful car on your hands, I just love the old GTBs. Up in MTL this past spring for GP weekend, they have Ferrari night on Peel St. There were various TRs, 360s, 355s present that night. My favorite car there turned out to be a absolutely perfect silver 308GTB; it's a timeless design.

Well, Dr. W., I did a research thing on the three manufacturers putting an OEM set of 14's together...the Cromodoras were the first vendor, IMO as they appear on the '75 -78 cars...then it appears The Old Man went with Campi's or Speedlines at whim thru the early '80s..Speedline was on board making Boxer wheels by then...

The other vendors had to emulate the Chromodoras, but Campi actually dressed up the mold edges!!!!! Then the later Speedlines you'll see what I'll call the "inner wigglies" or the radiused curves disappear completely, replaced by sharp inner corners, moving towards the more modern style 328 wheels.

Only important as you buy them ones and twos from the scrap yards as you have to be careful what they have....I have both Chromodoras and Campi's now between the two cars......with my luck the next one will be Speedline! LOL!

    Class dismissed!!

i would like to add a passanger side mirror, when the rest of this is done. i have a friend with a 97 Ducati and the mirrors are EXACTLY the same ( Vitaloni or something). i would not think that another mirror would cost "too" much. i agree that just on looks alone it balances the car out. i will get the euro front spoiler and bumper as soon as i find some that are not a bazzillion dollars.

NNO, the vin is *20433* made on my birthday in 1976 :) ( november 1976 build date)

Vitaloni Californian are the bullet shaped ones........Vitaloni also makes a Mini Turbo that is rectangular with a bellows over the mounting post....I've seen both but the Californians were used on the pre 80s cars.......

I've got the Mini Turbos on one of mine somehow......

Those Californians are (1) the only one worth putting on your car as far as I'm concerned and (2) available from Ferrari UK (recently featured in a Friday pics!) and on ebay. I think they get about $120/set on ebay.
