    I just check the dip stick today and it was almost dry so I had to put in a liter of oil. The last oil change was about 2 months ago and I have been driving the car 5 days a week for 30 min/day. Is my car eating oil too fast, I often get a burst of grey smoke when I come to a stop after a high rpm run.

    My engine is probably not a good one for comparison, being completely rebuilt in the last 2000 miles. But, I have used 1/4 -1/2 quart total in the last 1500 miles, I juyst topped it for the 1st time this weekend.

    You might want to check for leaks, but, face it, old engines are going to consume some oil.

    I'd check it every 100 miles or so and keep track of the consumption.
