I use 2 19" monitors at the office. I always highly recommend the extra desktop space to anybody. Once you get used to it, you'll never go back! I've also had good luck using a virtual desktop manager program(Cooldesk) as well. My productivity absolutely increased after being able to manage my desktop area more efficiently.
I assume that a single mouse will navigate on both monitors, where you can have different Window's screens open. Correct?
I use two Dell 2001 20" flat panels at work, one off digital, one off analog, resolution set to 1280x960 each. I can't live without them. At home, a single 21" Viewsonic PT813 refuses to die and has been flawless after 4 years of heavy use. Switching between the two isn't a problem at all. Depending on the dual display card your using, you can set one monitor to be the primary to prevent windows from appearing in the "middle" where the split is, they will always appear on the left or the right. The only issue I have is that for the second display, I make extensive use of a docked quick launch bar with 50+ items on it and maximizing a program window will cover this up, so I have to resize the window manually to use up the remaining display room on the second display. I have on my Mac, dual refurb'd LaCie Electron blue20" monitors, and on the PC, two mitsubishi 20" lcd's I got out of the recycler.com site. In the editbay, we have two 20" displays, a 42" plasma and a 108" lcd projector.
OK, installed a Nvidia video card and installed my main monitor to it. I plugged in the second monitor...but cant seem to find where to install that?? I have looked in the properties under setting, couldnt find anything, just one monitor as an option... Any ideas?? David
Actually, you don't need a dual head card, you can also add in a 2nd card. I run a positively old Matrox alongside my Nvidia card w/out problems. edit: the 2nd card you add has to have support for running in this configuration. Check with the manufacturer of your product for details.
Yes, thats what Im wondering about, how can I do this?? It also seems that the monitor I use will now not register when inserted into the slot I regularly used, but only when put into the slot in the video card I installed. Any advice?
I use a Matrox dual head video card which allows me to put one image on my lcd monitor and another on my 120" wide projector screen. Image Unavailable, Please Login
