I have recently purchased a 1996 456GT (6 speed manual) in Argento with Nero Hide. This is my first Ferrari and I have just joined this chatroom today! Any advice would be welcome. Many Thanks in advance!

Gorgeous specimen. Welcome. There's abundant 456 information in the archives, although I'm sure many owners would love to talk about their steeds.

Is that a Euro car? (Can't see where you are located, since you have not filled out your profile)

Suggest you check the seal on the windows at the bottom rear corner. I found a small gap on mine the first time I got caught in a very heavy rain. Otherwise drive it hard and frequently.

    John,

Nice car. Looks very mint from the picture. I also have a 456GT from 96 (black with black) which I love. Great cars, and under-rated, IMHO. My previous Fcar (355GTS) was Argento which I also really like, as it picks up the bright-work and wheels well.

Have a look at the 'Direction Needed' thread under UK section, and related threads, for a few views and tips on 456 ownership. Otherwise, simply do a search under the 'Technical Q&A' or 'Modern 355/350/456/550 or later' sections for 456, and I think you'll be impressed with the wealth of information available.

PM me with any other questions if you wish, by all means.

I hope you enjoy your car.

    James.

    Hi Kevan,
saw earlier thread and posted reply.Great looking machine. Theres no going back now, you're gonna be hooked for life! Wait til you really get a chance too open her up,they go like a rocket! Still love the plate too! If you haven,t already done, push the boat out(sell all unnecessary and frivalous items if required too pay for it,such as wife, kids, house etc) AND GET A TUBI FITTED.
Mine thankfully came with it,and the noise coming out of that baby is close too,if not better than orgasmic (but without the mess)LOL.
    Keep the faith brothers
