Finally managed to get a decent display system arranged for my previously cramped Ferrari collection - and so the proud moment has come to unveil them to FChat.COMmunity. See if you can spot my favourites!

Thanks! Yes both 1/43 scale. The Titanium Grey Enzo is BBR Idea (no. 001 of 149!) and the Black one is the Pirelli tyre test car made by R.P. Models (not really sure who they are??) and its no. 7 of 15 made! I found it last week at a toy collectors fair in Sandown Park, London - lucky find (lucky 7!) :)

Awesom collection! Superbly displayed. I love those plexi 'steps'. Where did you get those? I 'built' displaystands myself by using the little plastic covers of the cars themselves or those boxes for cassetetapes (yes, the pre MP3-era is known to me....).

Can you do an overall shoot, so it shows how much space this collection is taking up?

Thank you very much! They do give me a lot of pleasure!

Currently I have 3 glass cabinets which are about 40cm square base size and about 6 foot high (pics posted below for what they are worth). They have 3 glass shelves and glass sides all the way round. Bought 2 from Ikea recently (very cheap) and the first one from another UK store and it was very expensive (£180!) but with 'free' home delivery! The lighting inside was optional on the Ikea ones but works really well apart from the lead having to hang down frin the top! On the other one, the lights cleverly take power through the metal shelf supports, so the lead is at the bottom. Still you get what you pay for!

The steps are from www.3ddisplays.co.uk and are really cool too. Allows MUCH more space in the cabinets - also I have a glass shop next door to me, so I am getting them to build some custom shelves for the BBR and Exoto models. I can then have the 'lid off' on the Exoto's and it will look like they are floating!

Just finished that silver 360 spyder (Tamiya - 1/24th) and that's in its own case built by a local trader to custom sizes very cheaply (about £10 each).

Thanks for your comments chaps! :) Mark

Thanks you for all your nice comments so far!

I have actually drawn up a spreadsheet recently coz' I thought insurance was becoming an issue! It's at around 5k (sterling) at the moment and forming the backbone of the funds towards a 1:1 scale one day :)

Although parting with them would be hard to impossible... hmmm... "the best laid plans of mice and men" and all that!

    but clearly I see you have a 250 SWB Bertone s/n 3269
that's the most desirable model ever!
would you please post a pic of it by itself and elaborate (scale, brand) how you got it?
also the 360 Spider with it's top up looks very cool
    Congratulations!

I'm not really the greatest fan of most "Bertone" styled Ferrari's but the 250 GT is absolutely gorgeous! Posted some close-ups of it here. I bought it last week same time I got the black "Pirelli" Enzo and a beautifully finished Provence Moulage 375P (you can spot infront of the 250GTO and 166MM)

The Bertone is by SMTS 1/43rd scale built by the very experienced model maker Chris Heath, who specialises in scratch built Alfa Romeo models but has hundreds of others that he has made over the years.

Not sure exactly how many models I have becuase there's a ton more at my folks house which I need to cobine when I have my own house! I have been an avid Ferrari fan and collector since I was about 13 so the quality varies but of what I would call my 'adult' collection I have about 250 I think!

I've posted a pic of the info printed on the base. Some of these pictures make it look scrathced but its just the metallic paint going weird in the Flash I think becase the finish is actually spotless! :)

Thank you! Very recenlty finished it.... and did it in about 3 evenings. It's the Tamiya kit and I thought it would take a lot longer when I first opened the box! I suppose I must have got more into it than I thought.

There are 1 or 2 glitches but I'm pretty happy. I have so many that I made when I was younger that are just ruined becasue I rushed the painting and got glue over the windscreens etc. so I am making a real effort these days whenever I do find the time to be able to make a kit.

Found a Revell Enzo to make the other day - not as good detailing as the Tamiya but it will do to get some practice in!

Notice the movable windscreen!!! Aftermarket thought (as they say to glue them in)

    Not too sure about that!
Would be a good mission though! I think a sub mission that is appearing for me is to have one in red and the other in "not red"! For road cars at least!

Can you post pics of your new arrivals!

    hello Baracus
would you please post a pic of your 360's soft top alone by itself?
since I've been toying with idea of customizing one soft top for my 1:18 360 Spider which is silver too.
also I wanted to point out something:
as far as I know there's only one Bertone Styled Ferrari and that's the Dino 308 GT4. whereas the one model you have, was never a production ferrari but a one off prototype owned and driven by Nuccio Bertone himself which I'm lucky enough to know it's current owner, that's why I lust for that car.
(there's nothing I wish more than to have that model and hand it to this guy)

Pictures of soft top posted. Amazing that you know the owner of the actual car!! I have seen the BBR versions of these on eBay before - worth a look.

Not saying for certain but I thought I had seen at least one or two other Bertone 'concept' cars wearing the Ferrari badge? I will have a look though some books tonight!

Good luck making your soft-top roof - hope the pix help. Would love to see progress/results. Check you PM too!

I'm reigniting this very old Thread that I seem to have started many moons ago, to show some of my latest models for a bit of fun!

Four nice new BBR's arrived in the last couple of days. 2 new releases and 2 oldies I found on eBay!

    1) F8 Tributo, in Blue Corsa (standard edition). Amazing colour - doesn't really come out in my photos!
    2) F1 SF90, Charles Leclerc Australian GP 2019 (premium edition red leather base)
    3) F1 641/2, Alain Prost French GP winner 1990 (Ferrari Idea version, on Schedoni leather base)
    4) F333SP, Presentation version (also on Idea Schedoni base)
