Hello, I'm looking for information on the 360 CS. How many will be built? Any sites that layout the differences between the CS and the 360 M? Thank you. Roy
Roy, have you seen this? Good luck. Edit: sorry, the link doesn't get you to the Stradale info, you have to enter the site, select GT cars, then select Stradale. Hope that helps.
Hi Roy, Here is some info: The car is actually called a "Challenge Stradale". It is different enough from a 360 to not share any commonality in the name. The actual monocoque is different as the CS has a composite floorpan that very significantly increases torsional rigidity. The engine is "blueprinted" and has larger air intakes. (425 bhp vs 400 bhp) The exhaust system is COMPLETELY unique (all you have to do is hear one! The springs and wheel bolts are titanium The gearbox hydraulic system has a presuure of 30 bar vs 10 bar in the 360 There are only 2 gearchange settings on the CS, sport and Race - in race mode gearchanges take 150/1000ths sec 19" wheels (Specific to the CS) with CCM brakes Different front spoiler, side skirts, engine cover and rear diffuser that generate 50% more downforce than a 360 No soundproofing Extensive use of carbon in the interior and engine bay Different dashboard and interior 3.75 secs faster around Fiorano than a 360 with the same driver 1.2 secs (only) slower around Fiorano than an Enzo with the same driver 900 built. Production is finished. Subjectively: The greatest Ferrari of the modern era. As of last friday, only V8s on the production line in Maranello were 360 Spiders (all sold - no new orders taken) and F430s. Rgds Peter
are you sure about this? http://www.ferrariusa.com/ has recently been updated (though it's down right this second) to include the car, and they routlinely refer to it as "360 Challenge Stradale". however the owners site and ferrariworld both seem to be careful to omit "360". i'm inclined to believe FNA has messed up, but it's a pretty big mess-up, no? doody.
A big mess-up? For what? Adding 360 in front of Challenge Stradale? What difference does it make what they call the car so long as it's the same car?
FNA have messed up! I checked with the factory and they confirmed to me that the car is a Challenge Stradale and that they purposely left out any mention of 360 and/or Modena as the difference is such that the CS is a model in its own right. It is also a limited edition car which is not the case of the 360 (or the F430 for that matter). For fun, you should send a "corrctive" note to FNA and give them Ferrari SpA's address and 'phone #!!! Regards
lol chalstrad! i'll leave them to their own devices. they don't listen much to customers anyway viken - no crisis, it's just a dumb marketing mistake. though technically they are NOT the same cars, right? we have different options and we get the child safety seat latch behind the passenger seat, and we do not get the connection points for a roll bar, etc. --- i guess it is possible that the ROW car is in fact "CS" and the NA car is in fact "360 CS". if you look through the sales brochures (i have the hardcover one and the softcover preview one) they do in fact only call it the "CS". it's interesting to note that they refer to the track car as the "360 Modena Challenge" - perhaps even further separating it from the CS. if ferrari knows how to do two things and two things only these days, they are (a) running an F1 team and (b) managing the bejeezus out of their brand. the latter is why i find this exception so odd. fwiw, doody.
Roy, I've been looking as well. Is the one you are looking at have Alcantara? Stripe? Other than Scuderia rosso?
Was speaking to FNA today (about the 360 Challenge for 2005) and pointed out the error... they said "oh no!" and told me they would correct it!!!
ROTFLMAO chalstrad! that's hilarious. i'm glad nobody is paying attention over there --- as if we hadn't sussed that already! doody.
not to highjack, but speaking of there errors, they have the 0-60 time for the F40 at 4.5, I thought it was 3.8 sec. Am i wrong, or are they again????
Jeremy Clarkson claims 3.2 in his latest supercar video (available every where - try sleepy-fish.com) (I don't know how to highlight the link, sorry)
Hi Doody, Here is the reply I got from Ferrari Customer care in Maranello: Quote: We confirm that you are right and the name of your car is Challenge Stradale. Just like you explained because it needs to be differentiated from the 360. We regret for the inconvenience with Ferrari of North America that will soon be contacted to clarify the matter. Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again. With kind regards, Unquote !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ferrari Customer Care
LOL... maybe I should've contacted "Customer Care" in Maranello on my first Stradale problem... might've gotten a similarly up-front response... worth a chuckle anyway. Note that its not just FNA's website... my window sticker says "360CH STRADALE" as the model.
