Money is not the thing we have in common. Don't get confused. Its about the passion we share for the cars, not the cash.

Ok the 2 things that owners have passion and money. It was meant in a sarcastic way. But to get my point across, how do you target an audience that hold such a wide variety of people. Businessmen/women, actors and musicians to pornstars, attorneys, software developers and strippers. That’s a wide spectrum to target

I believe that this forum is far from money. Most of the folks I have met through this site are more enthusiasts with ferrari being a part of their passion for cars. Many here are young/old and do not own a ferrari, which I don't care about either way if they are car people. There are two types of advertiser endemic(specific to the information be written) and non-endemic(those who want the demographic) As I stated earlier and still have not seen an answer what is the point of this ad. Once that is determined, it looks like Rob has quite a few people willing to help out.(this is one of the most important aspects of this community - sharing).

We are VERY diverse people, but all overlap in our passion for Ferrari. I'm not interested in targeting just car people, I really want the quality users that have an above average passion for Ferrari, not just a passing interest because Ferrari is always target #1.

The two markets with Forza and Cavallino are different.

For Forza I think we would want images of the Challenge car and late models. Along with information on the "club" feel of our community. Stress we have regional areas and users often meet in person for "social" events.

For Cavallino we would be targeting an older demographic that is more into the history of Ferrari and vintage cars. Show images of cars representing this era along with promoting the Vintage and Technical section. Also might be good to stress the "ease of use" as not to scare away the less computer literate.

Showing a partial screenshot, with a few interesting topics in the table (ones that got lots of responses) would serve that purpose. You can make a fake banner with your 355 challenge car, so the taxman leaves you alone.
It comes down to the fact that you want to show the user friendly web gui, the range of topics, and include a section with statistics, in plain text, next to the screenshot image.
While I was one of the first to sign up for the collage as a poster, it might be too busy for an advert, even if in watermark mode.

Wow, that is really good! Hmm, that might be the one I want with a few changes to text. Might also switch the photo to one from the corkscrew.

    Thank you.

Don't forget your tagline.(The Online Ferrari Community) which should be placed under the logo. IMO that ad says way too much and does not really evoke what ferrarichat is. Don't be hasty with creative, it needs to engage the reader and send the message quickly. You may opt for an ad that teases someone into visiting - free t-shirt to first 200 new rosso subscribers or some other way to get them to visit once and register.

Rob, from my past experience with ads, please don't do a screen shot, they are beyond passe.

I had something close to that in mind, I never did anything because I don’t feel like searching for good pictures of Rob’s 348. the test part is what’s going to be hard, but I really like what you did with the shot of the forum, simple yet eye catching.

I like FerrariArtist's example above, but agree that it needs the the "online ferrari community tagline"

    Maybe just 3 bullet points...

All in all, its a good look.

I write our magazine ads and have been pretty successful

Don't use too much text. Trim it down..or else you lose impact.

Make the text easy to read. Don't put black or white over photographs.

    I prefer large headers:

    Like:

    Dig Ferrari?
    ferrarichat.com

    Or

Around the world, all roads converge at ferrarichat.com

I also would not mind poking fun at it.

    Instead of

"13k+ users, 800k posts in archives, 6+ gb of images posted"

    use

"Meet 13,000 like-minded nutcases that know their stuff. See what the buzz is all about."

Here is a couple we did:

My business is considered to be a snob business...so when you do something different it stands out and people like it. F-chat is certainly a place where you can avoid snobbery...so why not communicate that.

you're right.. Cavallino does require a little more subtlety and less flash....

i came up with this... still needs some tweaking but it gets the idea across...

Wow Grant, you're good! But we already knew that, I've seen your other artwork. Sorry I have to ask, but I received about 30 companies inquire about doing my artwork, were you one of them that was interested?

    Thank you,
