I understand that there was a leather headliner option available for the BB512i. If so, can anyone post a photo of what it looked like?

    Hi Franklin,
Mine has the leather headliner, black, matching the rest of the interior.
I'll get a pic tonight and post it for you.

Murph, is it original or redone ? And, is the leather headliner smooth or pleated?

Can you see any seams of thread or is the entire headliner seamless?

My car has the optional "leather headliner" and it's listed on the original factory invoice (see "512BBi owner's pouch" thread) as:

Upholstery: Leather BEIGE VM 3218 with "sky in leather" 3218

    SKY=Headliner :)

Here's a picture and the headliner is seamless.

My 84 bbi also has a leather headliner, listed as costing £381 sterling, but every other surface in the car is also covered in leather, even the doors, and handles and rear parcel tray.
    Is this normal??

So the inside of your door pockets are leather too I see. On my Boxer, the headliner is cloth as well as the inside of my door pockets.

My BBs headliner is leather also, the same with the door panels everything in Black, but my car has a complete brand new interior at great expense from a PO so I don't know what it came with from the factory.

Interesting the BBi has a rear hood open light , hazard light in the dash and roof console lights my car has neither.

I believe that that mini ribbed fabric in place of the leather was designed by Giorgio Armani exclusivly for Enzo Ferrari( correct me if I'm Wrong) but I had it in my first boxer and somehow remember being told that. I think you might have, if its original the same material on your owners manual pouch.
Its kind of like Fendi style trade mark stuff!

Come to think of it, the headliner and door pocket fabric is just like the fabric on the owners' manual pouch.

My car has leather inside of the door pockets too.

Sounds like the factory matched the pockets to whatever material the headline was made of.

I have the leather in the door pockets as well.
Should the cars with the leather headliner option have a matching leather owner's manual pouch?

I have the original bb512i sales brochure and the seats are featured in it, the cloth inserts are actually virgin wool and Ferrari used Ermenegildo Zegna to supply the material, in the brochure the car with those seats also has a matching interior door trim

My 79 512BB has a leather headliner, and everywhere else too (including inside the door pockets). Maybe fabric was the option?

About 13 years ago I saw a BBi at Fantasy Junction in N Cali with a all cloth interior, it was not holding up well and looked ratty. So some had cloth only.

It's quite a beast! I had it out today for a romp, it is really a lot of fun. Totally, completely, impractical, but that's part of what makes it so magnificent. And the noise, of course-- what a sound!

To it's credit, it is the first Ferrari I have ever bought which did not need anything after the PPI. It will need a major service next year, and it has the usual rock chips and slightly worn leather, but it seems to run great and most everything works. Even the clock works!

Mine is this way also. Doors + inside, and headliner. Everything is tan. It is real work to get to all of the leather with Hide Food. You have to assume that some of the leather has not been touched for years (or possibly never in the remote locations). I dare not clean the leather. I am afraid of the leather dye.
