    I have just seen the cost of the upgrade to the 575M to GTC standards;

Special Springs & anti roll bars
    Lower ride height
    upgraded power steering
    advanced suspension control
    carbon ceramic brake discs
    sports exhaust system
    coloured brake calipers (brembo)
    19" modular wheel rims
    special tyres

    £16,450-00 plus VAT -

Is this cheap or what, brakes alone worth £12k, wheels and tyres £4.5k
Exhaust £1.2k, I am the last to find out about this?

seems quite good although if you already have the wheels can you get it cheaper? also if you have already layed out for the Fiorano pack its probably not such great value compared to upgrading the standard car!

Absolutely right, the Fiarano pack was £10k on the price of the new car, plus in my case, the F1 box also.

However, the car is so much 'havingness' for me, just being able to stand and look at that badge and the red paintwork, any time day or night, was worth waiting 25 years for, no matter what it cost. I have done more miles in the last few weeks on track days than in the previous 11 months, she getting rather old now with over 1½k on the clock.

Its time we fitted some jewellery to V12 575.

Following V12 575 around Silverstone, I was extreamly impressed with the way the car handled the corners at speed. For instance NO oversteer or big bodyroll as the 550....

Or was this your driving skills Dave??? :)

    It must have been luck.

P.S. His only driving skill is doing 95 on the M1 with a mobile phone in one hand and a pot noodle in the other.

Absolutely, Shoemaker is my middle name. I have explained the tyre pressure was increased and the longer straights made the corners easier, the tight Mallory circuit was a little harder on the car, Silverstone is fast in and fast out, there now you have the technical BS.

As for the pot noodle and the phone at 95 on the Motorway, this is not true, I do not drive at more than 85mph on any motorway and certainly do not eat pot noodle, as for the phone, I have a hands free kit, that Closeshave is nothing but a plonker - A Little PLONKER - who is a bad loser, he got spanked by a Ferrari 575M sports car driven by a man twice his age, Closeshave, you don't need more electronic tuning to drive faster, you just need to learn to drive -Ha Ha. See you at Brands, next spanking will be with a Lotus V8, any bigger insult than that is impossible to envisage.

More BS from D11 VE:J. He's only upset because last time his mobile phone rang on the M1 he got an ear full of pot noodle.

I am hoping to get the quote for some of the parts next week, when the car goes in for its service. I will post the outcome, maybe I will take up your suggestion, does leave you a bit vulnerable for warranty claim rejection if you go it alone and not through Maranello in this case.

Dig that triple exhaust, that looks sporty enough, probably took his eye off the road for a second doing 190. I did warn you about the consequences of racing with closeshave and his GT2 didn't I! and that is only two of the cars he overtook at Silverstone last week.

Christ, he won't be able to sleep now after seeing those photos. He's bad enough already, I'm told he wakes up in the middle of the night screaming Nooooo not the 575. When his is awake he remembers the terrifying nightmare I was driving along in the 575 and well, the front wheel touched the kerb, and there was a big scratch. He then start’s sobbing mumbling something about being passed 32 times on a track day by a silver VW beetle with gee tea too written on the back..
    Oh the horror.
