I decided I might get more contributions (not to mention better organization) from moving this post to the model-specific forums... Vintage Classic Modern Supercars Thought I'd start a little collection of sound bites of our favorite cars. Please add a post for each car... with a sound bite or two to let us hear the exhaust. Note that the MP4's are MPEG-4 files... essentially an MP3 with a bit of video to let you see what's happening... but very low-quality video because the purpose is to maximize the audio. The latest versions of QuickTime and Windows Media Player can both handle MPEG-4. You can get the lastest version of QuickTime from: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ Stick the the left column... avoid the middle column. Select your OS, uncheck the buttons for receiving Apple solicitations (unless you want them), fill in the info, and hit "Download".
Here's a clip of my '75 208 starting up...somewhat reluctantly! http://www.sleepy-fish.com/ph_vids/startup.wav Dan
None taken...it hadn't been used in about 2 weeks. It does sound a lot better when warmed up. P.S. it's nice to see the Enzo and 360 being put to the use they were intended for!
A couple of my 328 with a Borla exhaust. These were from the recordings done for the video game Midnight Club II - needed steady rpm's in order to make the necessary loops for use in the game. One channel is the engine, the other is exhaust. http://onyourmarkmusic.com/ferrari/328_7000rpm.mp3 http://onyourmarkmusic.com/ferrari/328_accel_5000rpm.mp3 Also getting ready to work on more engine sounds for True Crimes III - should be fun! Seems like a suitable start to a "Classic" collection... the 328. This is one of a collection of several exhaust clips compiled by someone trying to encourage others to contribute... so, I don't think he'll mind this set of threads... but I wish I could remember who to credit... anyone?
great thread idea! i wonder what sort of equipment you need to get a good recording and not a bunch of wind noise. i would like to do a before and after recording of my carb 308, once with the USA Ansa and once with the new exhaust i want to go with ( Magnaflow?).
Definitely make the recordings... and make them the same way so they are comparable. As for wind noise, I just use a camcorder and locate it near the windshield and either only open the windows partially or not at all. A remote mic in the engine bay would be even better, but not really necessary.
So far I haven't been able to get the MP4s to play, even though I have the latest WMP and QuickTime, but I think that's just a matter of me adding MP4 to the list of acceptable formats for one or the other. (Wade A. Minut -- MP4, isn't that a McLaren designation? We shouldn't be messing with those on a Ferrari website! lol) Seriously, I think this is a good idea, but I think this thread (and its counterparts on the other Model Specific forums) should be made a "sticky". Otherwise it will disappear down the list and onto another page.
Enough 8's... here's a 12... Testarossa with Koenig exhaust... same source. I have an MPEG of a TR with Tubi... but its too huge and it has one of those "invisible" soundtracks that I can't convert to MP4... what's up with that?
Leave it to the Mondial driver to be the one to finally get on it in this series of exhaust shots from the same source...
Coincidence, Just got the mp3 file of a couple of speed runs in my 348. I had STEBRO testpipes and exhaust installed in September. I love the deep resonance from these pipes. Pictorial of the install is in the general section (assuming the moderators leave it there!). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, you've got all of em! If anyone wants the uncompressed ones, PM me, I think I have them somewhere.
Can anyone find sounds of these Ferraris in MP3 format? F430 Challenge F430 Scuderia F360 Challenge F360 Challenge Stradale F355 Challenge F348 Challenge FXX F50 GT1 F40 LM GTE 288 GTO Evoluzione and any others, like 250TRs and 250 GTOs. Many thanks in advance!
