I guess I interpret Ferrari friendly as any place that has well-kept roads, secure parking, and spots where you can let your car loose. Of course, if wanting to be seen is your kick.....South Beach it is!!

 

I've seen the Dallas area take a couple of shots here.

It's actually not that bad.

First, there's pretty much any type of exotic available locally. Lamborghini, Ferrari/Maserati, Panoz, Ruf, Saleen -- all are for sale by local dealerships, and have support by those dealerships

Second, we have Motorsports Ranch and Texas Motor Speedway for some high-speed exercising of the ponies.

Third, there's great aftermarket support, with Shadetree & Norwoods and many others.

Fourth, there are some decent roads around here, once you get out of Dallas proper. You have to look for them, but they're out there. Both twisties and flat-for-10-miles-top-end-run roads.

Fifth, both major Ferrari clubs are represented with active chapters.

 

I know this is meant to be kept to the US, but I couldn't help myself.
Has to be Hong Kong, can park at a meter for 3 hrs come back there will be a couple of Chinamen telling you how good the car is, and ask what they need to do to buy one. Do that in Australia you'll come back from dinner and see that your badges have gone, valve caps also, and someone has decided to modify your paintwork. The chinese have respect!

I consider the question to be "where would one feel the safest PARKING a Ferrari" - you can drive one pretty much anywhere there is asphalt and no trees to slalom around.

And the answer to that might be Hollywood, CA or SLC, Utah. Hollywood, because cars costing over $75K are as common as sand at the beach and nobody pays them much mind. Utah because of the heavy Mormon population - very low risk of vandalism or car theft, everyone's very polite/courteous, and there's a great dealership in town.

 

Moab, Utah. Smooth, curvy asphalt, incredible scenery (think Wily. E. Coyote and the roadrunner), scarce traffic, good parking at the Moab Brewery where you can watch your car from the patio, even a great breakfast next morning at the Jailhouse Cafe.

Beyond that, some town off of Hwy 50 in northern Nevada, maybe Fallon or Ely.

 

Gotta give a shout out for Orange County, CA. As far as driving is concerned, the roads are perfect and the scenery is amazing. You've got windy mountain roads, scenic desert drives and incredible views along the ocean on PCH. The weather makes it possible to take the top down most of the year and not worry about the rain or snow on the roads. Because there are so many exotics around, it lessens the jealousy factor so there's less need to worry about vandals. Valets know how to drive the F1 and how to park it out front. And there are several servicers and high-end shops around.

But most importantly, the women here can spot one from a mile away.......

.........the only downside, here in Newport Beach Ferrari's are as common as Porche's and Porche's are as common as Volkswagons. So you're really not that special.

 

cant be in Maine, to many BMW'S there (Big Maine Women) but they do keep you warm in the winter and also provide shade in the summer. All kinding aside, I lived there for 15 years, and they do have some great roads.

 

Little Rock, AR as the long traffic lines "part" to allow the ultimate exotic machine to pass through.

 

Vancouver, without a doubt.

 

ANY city is friendly if you never speed.

I dunno, the roads I've been on in Phoenix the past few months have been some of the smoothest I've ever driven. I believe they are mixing recycled tyres / rubber into the asphalt. You wouldn't believe the noise reduction! The weather out there is a big plus too...

I'm going to vote for Scottsdale, AZ. I see Ferraris every time I'm there, and I'm there a lot. The weather is great 85% of the time, and they have a local dealer along with many independants for service.

My 330 is my first Ferrari, and I was very pleasantly surprised to have my preconceived negative myths about Ferrari ownership, especially in Dallas, disproven through experiencing some of the things Tillman has listed. The main problem is if you're a Dallas resident who lives anywhere inside Loop 12 or even 635 you have to drive at least 30 min. through LA-heavy traffic to get to any kind of decent road environment for proper Ferrari usage.

Ah, for the old days of the late 60's, when I could crank up my '66 Pontiac GTO and be in the country after crossing Forest Lane going north or White Rock Lake going east.

Well, I do live near White Rock now and I can always cruise around the lake again...

Denver-If you know which canyons to terrorize during the week; North Park/Steamboat area; how fast can you get to the top of Berthoud Pass from I-70???!!!! Great dealership/support/independent shops/restaurants/LODO/ad infinitum!!!

 

Reasonable and Prudent, I love that sign. I wish we had signs like that in the outskirts and boonies of California where we could open up out cars freely and safely without the fear of big brother watching. Montana get my vote for the summer time.
