all cars posted on ebay without a reserve are only "no reserve" if the reserve isn't met ;)

Wow, I can't believe that this car is still not sold. The F-chat member has all the documentation regarding the repairs (I seem to remember that but don't hold me to it). It's certainly a very nice example and if it sells anywhere within the range it's in now...someone is going to do very well. IMO of course...based on keeping the car for a period of time.

While I'm familiar with the tactic of dealers pulling "no reserve" auctions at the last minute if the anticipated price isn't met, given how long this particular dealership has been trying to sell this 550, I think this is probably a true "no reserve." 6 days and 10 hours will tell...

Yea...but it is not perfect as he states. Got a little dimple on the hood. Some wind noise and creeks I think. This is the word from those who have seen it.

I was gonna try to make a deal on it...but will let the smoke clear.

Yes, this dealer makes the excursion with the deer sound like walk in the park instead of a 130k+ repair bill. Will be interesting to see where it ends up. Its on my watch list. Maybe we should create a fchat collective bargaining agreement so we don't bid up the price against each other and have an internal lottery at the end to find the winner!!

I love the way they spelled "deer" as "dear"...

Well that explains quite a bit then. I was actually thinking on bidding as of this morning, but I will also wait and see how this goes. If the car can be had for the "right" money, then it may be worthwhile. Then again, I may not want the potential headache...

while it looks like a great deal the damage was very bad, and iam not sure the small problems are that small, if it sells for 80k great but if it starts pushing 90+/100 i think i would wait and buy a non damaged one maybe a little older around the 100/115 range, but i geuss its tough to say having not seen it or driven it.............anybody seen or driven it since rebuild?

it was in a BAD way. i did have photos but i cant seem to find them now.
the work was done very well.
You would really need to see and drive the car.
VERY LOW 80's i guess wouldnt be to bad.
but you can buy stright 1998-2000 from high 90's to 115.

Yes, that is what I was told by former owner. I saw some pics of the car in the shop and because it spun(I think) there was damage front and rear. Its a beautifully optioned car and too bad about the damage but I too think price should be in the 80's for it to be a worthwhile risk.

In all fairness the previous owner of the 550 thought the work was very well done. He visited it a few times a week to watch

I saw a 360 at a body shop yesterday that was much worse...and not salvage.

"Due to the unavailability of parts the insurance company was forced to settle with its customer and we purchased the vehicle after it was repaired."

and title is "other". the insurance "settlement" most likely resulted in a salvage title which crushes the value no matter what the damage or quality of repair

Looks like someone scooped it up before the end of the auction. If it was an Fchatter...I hope to hear more about this machine and whether it was worth the $$$.
