308GTS, #24155, build date in June of 78, not 24451 as I kept posting in other posts.

24451 IIRC was a red & black boxer schemed 78 308GTS that was in the Dan Diego area. That was the first 308 I tried to buy, unfortunately, I waited to long and someone else beat me to it.

Funny my Boxer is 24445, this car was 3 vehicles behind my car.

That's funny. Mine's a red & black boxer trim and it came from San Diego. How long ago was that? There must have been at least two there!

I'd say August-Oct of 2003. I believe the car was in Carlsbad or Cardiff By the Sea. IIRC, the history of the car prior to the mid to late 80s was unknown, but everything seemed to work except the rear antenna motor/switch. I think the AC was OK. Sound familiar???

The car did not have the scuderia shields and IIRC, the louvers behind the headlamp motors were black rather than red.

Conspiracy or coincidence? Do you suppose the factory just earmarked a number of chassis all in close sequence for the boxer paint job? Do the yellow 308s and Boxer chassis numbers occur together?

I've added the shields, the louvers were red when I got it, the A/C doesn't work (the fan still blows though), and the antenna switch doesn't either (it's hooked to the newer stereo instead). Could be? Were the owners a couple with something to do with a dealership of some kind? If so I'd say it might be the same car. I bought it the end of November 2003. Almost a year now!!

It would be expected that the factory would sequence cars with similar paint together. You can expect that your blue Explorer was built in the middle of a batch of 5 blue ones, too.
