Lets just say that I have radar verification that a boxer does over 105 in third.
I'ven gotten at least 40. Beat all but 4 of them. Currently have one on my record, and it goes away in June. My friend Doug Daniels (Doug348) has well over a 100, with only 10 convictions or so. The worse I ever got was 3 in one day. In LA on my then new 1970 Honda 750. Going down PCH about 10 over the limit, with traffic. Cop stopped me, gave me a ticket for 20 over, when I left, I sprayed him with gravel, another ticket. Down the road, another cop, another ticket. Beat all three. Mailed the acquittal to the cop with a small note reminding him that his address was public record (that changed in the late 70s though, probably for stuff just like that). The rate of acquisition has definitely slowed down. Back then I was competing and traveling a lot, so driving 40 - 50k per year was common. Art
All of my speeding tickets (I think 5 or 6 in 20+ years) have been for under 20 over the speed limit, except for the time I passed a cop doing about 160, at night, on a freeway. I felt guilty about that one for a long time, so any time I break the 100MPH mark, I think about that day and back off.
