can anyone tell me how easy it is to take down the under tray
as i want to inspect it before i buy the car (95) gtb
is there much to look at anway,is it worth it??? the car is on a ramp and will be doin a comp test as well
also what tools i will need torx or std sockets etc..
the reason is that i suspect the car has had a n/s front wing replaced i think,
and want to see from underneath that wing and frame

    thanks in advance

Reading your question I'm assuming you want to take the 'front' undertray off.

If you want to look inside the wing area ("fender" for our American pals) you can to remove the small access panels at the front of the car which are there for lamp/bulb access. Cross head screwdriver is sufficient. You will get a limited view and on the RHS you will not see much at all because the battery will be in the way.

If you want a proper look the only way is to remove the wheel, and remove all the wheel house liner panels. Cross head screw driver and 8mm socket are needed.

At the rear you can see most of the important stuff like pipes/exhaust etc. without removing the engine tray. However, if you can I'd remove the engine tray too because it can mask weeping oil-leaks from the front of the engine.

For the engine tray you will also need cross-head driver & 8mm socket.

If you think the car has been in a crash have a careful look at the tyres for un-even wear. This can be a hint although it does not always necessarily mean the car has been in a smash.

BTW, please put some info in your profile & let us know how you get on.

    Hope this helps.

    RF.
