As some of you may know, the Mondial Cabriolet has an access panel behind the rear seat backs that gives access to the front of the engine. It seems like a very handy feature to have. The coupe does not. It looks like it would be fairly easy to cut one in. A Sawzall and rerouting some hoses and voila, easy access to front bank of sparkplugs, etc.

Has anyone done this and does anyone know why Ferrari left this feature off the coupe?

I read that with the top down storage area and different bonnet lid, access to the front of the engine was much worse in the cab than the coupe so they had to design in access door to even change the plugs; perhaps a cab owner can chime in.
I think an access port is quite do-able, and just avoid whatever structural bracing is there.
