Are you restricting it to only the vintage models?

Although I do not have a vintage car at the moment, I have always used Castrol GT-LMA. It's DOT 3-4, the "LMA" stands for low moisture absorption. I have heard good things about it from others as well.

Ford Heavy-Duty Brake Fluid is supposed to be good, too, but I have never used it. I know some Vette guys that use it for the track.

I use DOT 4 Castrol on my 1972 Europa. It's cheap and does the job; just keep it away from the paint.

Castrol LMA is the ONLY brake fluid I use.

I have never rebuilt a wheel or clutch cylinder in the ALFA, FIAT or Ferrari.

Silicone - no way. We almost learned the lesson the hard (make that expensive) way. Anyone want the details?

Hi, Steve - I've only had experience up to and including the 308 series.
I'm not up to the requirements of the newer cars so I cannot comment.

Hi, Dave - I've been away from the keyboard for a while. In the very near future, I will definitley post a few nightmare problems we've had with silicone brake fluid in the past.
Unfortunately, at this time, I'm swamped at work (No e-mail at home)
